“Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them.
On the hole, everything else was excellent.
There was no recycling facilities, which was quite a surprise, and also a slight disappointment. Everything else was above...
“Excellent - friendly hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are clean and way above the star listing in terns of facilities. There is a pub below the accommodation but there is no issue with noise. The food is very good quality and plenty of ir. This pace is my ‘go to’ on business to the North East ”
“Stayed for 1 night in the stables as a single female. The accommodation is an add on to the pub Royal Oak next door. The room was clean and a good size, what was really impressive was the facilities- a microwave with plates/cutlery, toaster, washing up equipment, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a fridge.
There was a child’s play area across the road. Horses in the next field lovely area.
Went to the pub for tea. Staff gave a warm welcoming, food was lovely and very reasonably priced.

“This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable.”
