“Beautiful location near Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village. Quiet, rain-forest grounds with fiddleheads, ferns, anthurium on walking path to hot tub. I was traveling with my hula sister and we wanted to watch the Merrie Monarch Festival on TV. The television was old with poor reception. I tried to contact the host through VRBO but couldn't get through. Called the VRBO help line and they cut me off so we watched on my computer instead. Glad I had it with me! Otherwise a pleasant stay.”

“This property was clean and was true to its listing. Was an excellent location to access the Volcano National Park. Owners were super responsive and easy to work with.”

“A nice place, but limited check in times. Property a bit remote. . Room a bit damp,,, so had to use dehumidifier (which wasn’t on the hotel description!!!!!). Not high on the list to return to. ”

“Very clean and simple room - quite nice. Expect the room to be super humid. There was a small dehumidifier, but it didn’t do much. The best was turning on the heater in the early morning to dry the air when the temp was cool enough. No message before arrival and no phone answer. Host responded to Vrbo messages within minutes though and gave me the information. I reserved the day before, so it could have been last minute. “This place was quaint but everything we had hoped. Loved the property and everything was perfect. Please note that this is 1 hour from the Volcano but it is well worth it to stay at this place. Will come again.”

No, this house is filled with a spirit of its own where you can feel the life of all those that have passed through these doors. “Kim’s Cottage and Jim’s welcome were both awesome, two of us stayed for three nights and it was exactly as described and expected. The private patio was wonderful and it made for easy living. We did have some unwelcome encounters with mosquitos, but that was expected due to the location of the property and the season.
