“This place is 5 stars. We stayed at one of two cabin’s on Renate’s horse farm. Our cabin was located close enough to Selfoss, and Golden Circle, but far enough where you have a peaceful river, horses, and quiet. We read about how folks wished they had more time here, and made it a point to stay for three nights, so we could enjoy the cabin, land, and views on mornings and evenings after touring. Renate was very communicative, kind, and accommodating. We even learned about Icelandic horses and...

“If you like being out of the way Afternoon Cottages is a great jumping off point for adventuring. It is well equipped and very clean. It has a great price point and very basic. It worked great for us because it was simply a place to cook dinner and sleep. You have access to all the necessities about 25 minutes away in Hella. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.”

“Very nice little cabin about 30 minutes north of Hella. Well appointed for a studio. The weather was wicked but it was cozy inside! Plenty of information provided. No issues! I would return!”

“Sleeping in a bubble was a great experience! The kids loved it and we each took turns using the bubble rooms. There were two available for us, so it was really nice. Also saw the northern lights from their property, awesome experience.”

“Very nice cottage. Comfortable with all desired amenities. Great place to get away and feel closer to the surroundings. Only caution is on warm days, the cottage has no AC and can get very warm.”
