“A change of plans took me to Hexham and the Beaumont hotel for what was to be a very pleasant experience. Arrived two hours early and was only looking to store my bagage as I fully expected to be asked to wait until regular check-in was open. Instead the hotel went the extra mile and had my room ready in a bit more than half an hour. And the Abbey and the pleasant park just across the road it was very easy to spend those 30 minutes in relaxing way. I got a spacious twin room on the 1st floor...

“Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Great, helpful staff. Close to bus station, restaurants, stores, boutiques, and four-FOUR charity shops! :) (Parking is confusing, however. Park in the nearby city lot in a space with WHITE borders-otherwise you may have to pay.)”

“Det var en mycket speciell upplevelse att bo i ett så gammalt slott, med en tydlig slottskänsla men ändå med moderna badrum. Det var omsorgsfullt renoverat och moderniserat. Stora valmöjligheter till frukosten, men det tog litet tid eftersom det var bordsservering och inte buffé. Vi åt middag på restaurangen och det var bra men portionerna...

“We always ask for a river view and it was greatly appreciated”

“No breakfast included. No on site parking available. No heating on the first night. Room slightly grubby. Disappointing for the price.”

“Excellent staff very kind and hospitable and very nice pub food and breakfast. LargeTV screen to watch the World Cup and BBC I player to catch up on the highlights, all good.”
