“Staff very welcoming. Food really nice and very filling. Perfect stay for us. Thankyou”

“The room was gorgeous and Sue is the kindest person. Lots of attention to detail and the little things that make your stay special. One issue was low water pressure in the shower due to a temperamental electric device that runs the shower head.”

“Excellent breakfasts, well organised. Room clean and welcoming. Only issue was the parking which was a bit of a lottery”

“My wife and I had a fabulous 2 night stay. Our room was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was first class. The bar was a lovely place to relax after a long day walking. We would definitely return for another visit. I have only one observation to feedback, and its minor. The decor in our bathroom was tired and needs looking at. The bathroom was clean and tidy, but paint work and fixtures were beginning to show their age.”

“Warm welcome and a clean and comfortable room in this friendly guest house a short walk from central Penrith. Great advice on transport from the owner and delicious breakfast served in our room. Nothing more needed for a relaxing stay.”

“The rooms were clean and comfortable. It's a no-frills visit, so bring what you need. If you're staying in Penrith for the first time, ask for directions to the hotel, because the gps will take you the long way. There is a shortcut to and from the station.”

“★★★★☆ The George Hotel has plenty going for it: welcoming staff, a generously sized room, thoughtful extra amenities and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The location is incredible, too. However, as many other reviewers have mentioned, this is not a quiet hotel. We were in a designated quiet room, with no events taking place during our stay, and could still hear just about everything happening around us. Four and a half ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the comfort, staff and fantastic location, but light sleepers...

“The Inn itself is lovely and great location, however there was no heating or hot water, and we checked in after getting caught in the rain on a long walk on a cold day so were really looking forward to a hot shower! There was no communication from staff about this, and no apology in the morning. Unfortunately this ruined what I’m sure would have otherwise been a lovely stay.”

“Beautiful place, great breakfast and friendly staff!”

“We arrived to a lovely friendly greeting from Suruchi, we were given a walk around of the property, offered information on things to do and places to go. We chose this as a central location that was dog friendly for the three of us to stay. Nice location, nice property and the room was clean and tidy. Would definitely use this property again on another stay in the lakes. Thank you for making our 4 night stay so memorable.”

“En väldigt stort och rymligt rum på ett centralt boende. Rummet var ganska dammigt och på morgonen fanns ingen personal tillgänglig före kl 9, vilket drar ner betyget. Efter att puben stängt på kvällen fortsatte festen utanför, och det blev väldigt högljutt och svårt att sova.”

“Nice hotel in the centre of town. The ground floor is a bar/restaurant during the day and breakfast area in the morning. The room was clean, fresh and modern. ”

“This was the best B&B by far I have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and a very comfy bed. The full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, There was also a good alternative menu aswell. But if you decide to have an evening meal you are in for a real treat. Darryl is a trained Chef and the meals he serves are amazing.”
