Enjoy a true mountain cabin lifestyle and getaway, within walking distance to Mirror Lake and Lake Sequoia and minutes to downtown Highlands.

We love dogs, so we offer your first dog stays free (contact us if you have a 2nd dog for a nominal extra charge - maximum of 2 well behaved dogs). We do ask that dogs stay off beds.

This perfect mountain cabin offers an upscale fully appointed kitchen, sure to delight gourmet chefs, cocktail experts, and appetites. Your kitchen opens to a lovely dining room, which leads to the soaring two story great room, with tongue and groove ceilings and a rustic stone fireplace for those cool Highlands nights. From the great room, step out onto the newly expanded deck with enough room for grilling and dining, as well as a cozy conversation area with a gas fire pit for relaxing with coffee, or a cocktail! A spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, and a fully stocked modern ensuite bathroom, leads to another walkout to the deck. A beautiful second bedroom with a queen size bed and its own nearby full bath, insure the comfort of the main level. The second level adds a large bonus room, queen bed and full bath. Enjoy the 70 inch smart TV which offers over 85 channels on YouTube TV, sports packages, Disney+, and movies galore! This loft is open to the great room and is perfect for an additional living area, sleeping area, and an in-home office if needed. Your perfect mountain getaway is located in the desirable Mirror Lake R2 district, within city limits, and only a few short minutes to bustling Main Street in Highlands. Enjoy strolling and eating your way through this quaint neighborhood or grab your fishing pole or canoe and enjoy the serenity of two nearby lakes and the many waterfalls of the Plateau.

Your Privacy and Protection is Important to us! Free Wi-Fi is encrypted and requires a passcode (found in our Cabin Information Book). We do not distribute or sell ANY of your personal information. We have Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarms on each floor, CO2 Detector, Water Detector, Home Security System with only external camera on the Parking Area, and the Door Entry Lock pin changes immediately with each guest. Our Professional Housekeeper is a stickler for sanitation!

Cannot say enough about this wonderful home. It has everything to make a vacation comfortable and easy. The well-equipped kitchen makes cooking and good coffee (a priority in my house) easy.And the views of the mountains from the deck are amazing! Downtown Highlands is at most 10 minutes. We will be back!

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay during a vacation in Highlands! The cabin was clean and located in a beautiful neighborhood. We were within 15 minutes of the hikes that we wanted to do and we were within 5 minutes of downtown Highlands, so the location was very convenient! We loved sitting on the back porch amidst the trees in the afternoons. The host responded quickly when I had a question about check out. We would definitely love to stay here again when we visit Highlands in the future!

This was a wonderful cabin for our 4 day stay in the mountains. We had everything that we needed and felt like we were home with all of the comforts! The neighborhood was perfect for walking our dogs and we were close to everything. It was beautifully furnished, comfortable beds, and the kitchen was well equipped. We will definitely choose this cabin when we visit again!

We loved our stay at the Red Top Treehouse! It was the perfect mountain getaway, peaceful, beautiful, and so well thought out. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, making it easy to cook and enjoy dinner on the deck. The entire place was spotless and welcoming, and our host, Joann, was friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this little slice of mountain heaven!

Best VRBO Stay Ever!

Best appointed VRBO ever!

Arrived on Valentine's Day. A bottle of Cava waiting for us! Great communication and absolutely the best appointed VRBO of the many I have stayed in. Clean, so well stocked and comfortable, we only left twice for dinners out. Great info in neatly organized notebook. Last half mile to home is a bit of adventure first time, but easy after that. Perfect mountain stay…

Our cabin stay was a perfect mountain interlude. It is a beautiful property and perfectly appointed with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable, and my compliments to the housekeeper for the pristine condition of everything. We relaxed in front of the fireplace on rainy days and enjoyed the forest view and beyond from the comfortable deck chairs when the weather cleared. It’s a quick trip to town and near many beautiful waterfalls and scenic overlooks. I would definitely stay here again!

Location! Location! Location!

Red Top Treehouse Cabin had everything we needed plus a great location! The tree top views from the back deck were a great way to start and end each day. We really felt like we were in the mountains but could get to downtown in minutes. Our group saw one bear (thankfully from inside our car) and several deer. We loved walking the sweet mountain roads in this neighborhood. The roads are steep and narrow so bring a car suited for this type of driving - we thought is added to the adventure! The hosts were very easy to communicate with and pompt to respond.

Delightful mountain getaway

My friend and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at the cabin. It was beautifully decorated and equipped with anything you could want! The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and just relaxing after hiking a few places and shopping of course.We saw no bears while there!

Birthday celebration

This little mountain house was perfect for us to celebrate my birthday. Joann left me a bottle of champagne to help with the festivities!! How sweet. The kitchen is stocked full of anything and everything you could need to cook. The deck amazed with a perfect view of sunset and a fire pit. Not far from downtown Highlands, which had great shopping and wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed 4 days of hiking, rest and celebration. Thank you to Joann and Mike.

Honeymoon Stay

Perfect getaway for our honeymoon. The cabin was extremely clean and very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and toiletries. Loved that it was so close to the town of Highlands. The owners made check-in very easy and gave us their phone numbers in case we needed to contact them, which we did not. We would definitely recommend this great cabin.

Lovely home with everything you need for an enjoyable stay! Beautiful view and easy access to Highlands downtown area. Disappointed the grill did not work because something was wrong with the burner. Previous renter had left Very little propane between two tanks.
