Gorgeous and unique historic guest house . Wonderful old building with character and charm , just a short stroll to Central Hobart . A yummy Nepalese pub/restaurant over the street . Host , John, bakes the most delicious biscuits and brekky is help yourself to a generous spread with nice coffee. Love Edinburgh House and Tassie .

Lovely old building with well appointed facilities and excellent breakfast. John is a great host. Our only problem was that we were in a room that faced a busy road and we could hear a lot of traffic noise.

There are 6 rooms with private bathrooms and 4 rooms that share 2 bathrooms down the hall which are usually chosen as they are the cheaper option.

I was delighted to enjoy all the period furnishings and collections from our proprietors travels.John too was very welcoming and always available for an interesting and informative chat.The availability to access the well organised and generously supplied food in the guest’s kitchen was very much appreciated too.I would definitely recommend this establishment.

The house was decorated beautifully, with art from many ethnicities. The owner was friendly and facilitated people to feel comfortable and relaxed. The house was able to be accessed easily, and luggage could be stored after checkout. Fridge & tea making in room. Lovely kitchen & dining rooms. Plenty of clean bathrooms. Good access via bus & Uber for convenient exploring of Hobart.

i have stayed here twice now and certainly the rooms with ensuites are the best. particularly if on ground floor. Breakfast is great and kitchen accessible all day. John as a host is friendly and helpful. Excellent location short 10-15 minute walk to downtown Horbart. Remember there are stairs so if difffiuclty maybe not for you.

Great host and overall building. Good location for Hobart access. We had the last room with no toilet, because they were full, so the three flights of stairs to the amenities got tiresome.. overall a great place to stay and would definitely go back..

Pleasant but not quiet in room 4
Room 4 is very loud - all night. Being right on the main road, and beside the lights, there is a constant ‘beeping’ which never stops for the pedestrian crossing button. Cars also accelerate from a standing start at the lights all night - particularly at 2am and 3am. Not a great night’s sleep.

I liked nothing in the property. The place is run down. Worst thing is the toilet where the only sink in the room is and it is so tiny that it is unusable

Stepping back in time
It was in a very accessible position, close to the city. Very clean with excellent continental breakfast choices. Especially appreciated the hot brewed coffee supplied each morning. A grand old home.

Gracious host, lovely old property, wonderful food set out in the kitchen. Bathroom was clean but a little dodgy with the sloping veranda floors! And a magnificent central location- walk to everything... thank you John.

John the owner is brilliant. The house is amazing, full of his unique finds from travelling for decades. The communal kitchen is actually lovely, especially for solo travellers. He also had loads of books, dvds and games to peruse, I wish I could have stayed longer.

おじさん一人の経営らしく、すべて簡素化してましたが、逆にそれがアットホームで気兼ねなく過ごせた。おじさんもとても親切に私たちを迎えてくれた。部屋も素敵で清潔でWIFIも繋がりが速い。おじさんのお屋敷に住み込みしているみたいで有意義だった。

整座酒店就是當地舊式大宅，保養得宜。我們住沒有浴廁的雙床房，需要上兩層樓梯沐浴如廁，但整體很清潔舒適，環境氛圍富藝術氣息。廚房提供水果、面包、即食麵及飲品等，住客可以隨時享用。位置距離市中心及碼頭大概15-20分鐘步程，十分方便。但一般店鋪下午五時便關門，超市食肆會晚一些，但個別會不同。

クラシカルな洋館です。
ホバートの中心から少し離れていますが、近くにはホテルに併設されている安くて美味しいレストランがありました。築100年以上は経っているでしょうか。クラシカルな素敵なホテルです。裏には駐車場もあり空港まで車で15分位なので初日か最終日にお勧めします。朝食もたっぷり用意されているのでお腹一杯になって出かけられます。

This property was perfect for our family stay of 2 adults & 2 teens. Shared bathrooms were very clean & organised for maximum privacy & security. Beds were very comfortable with crisp fresh linen. It is well equipped & a place where you are actively encouraged to use all the facilities. No more than a four minute drive to all the places we were visiting TMAG/Salamanca/City Centre/Jane Franklin Hall. Great visit, thank you.
