Great little apartment that was a short walk downhill to Salamanca area. Ideally positioned for the markets and all the eateries, parks and wharves. Only negative was the shower head in our room.

Fab location being a short distance to the main Salamanca area. actually caught the tail of the Sat Market. it is a service apartment so great to take advantage of the local butchers and markets. I discovered 3 bottles of salt in the pantry, presumably all left by previous guests. the inn-keeper Nathan is a great guy, making you surely feeling at home - we got handed our keys at the car park. The only complaint: got waken up around 5:30 am by a very noisy (garbage?) truck passing our street. The entrance to the carpark and the carpark itself are both quite small, so maybe need to book ahead if you are taking a car.

Enjoyed my 2 night stay. Love the old features in the heritage building, along with the modern kitchenette and good sized bathroom. Great to have a coffee pod machine and plenty of milk in the fridge, along with ice cubes and a bottle of water in the freezer. Bed listed a queen but was 2 king singles together so was huge! The room was spacious. I got there very late at night and the instructions for entry were clear to follow.

We really enjoyed our stay at Porter Place. A good set up which was very cosy and comfortable. The location is excellent with just about everything you need within walking distance. Would definitely stay again. Great value for money.

I have been lucky to stay in many places around Australia and the world. I found the apartment at Portsea Place to more than adequately fulfill the needs of my wife and I. A simple, clean and centrally located apartment. Trevor is an excellent host and I have no hesitation in recommending his property to anyone seeking accommodation in the Salamanca/Battery Point area. Similarly, I can guarantee that we will be returning there on our next trip to Hobart.

This was our 3rd stay here and we love it! Great location walking distance to everywhere. Nice to have a kitchen so you don’t have to dine out for every meal if you’re on a budget.

Excellent location to Salamanca Place,Constitution Dock & therefore all the attractions associated with these locations. Very clean rooms with all amenities you require. On site parking is great for safe parking of rental cars.

Loved our stay. Great location and good off street parking for $5 per day. Received a warm welcome checking in and given good information. Our apartment was spacious, clean and very well equipped. It had good heating. Slept well in the very comfortable bed. Great hot shower with good pressure. Back door to car park. Front door to street, so just walk straight down the hill to Salamanca Markets, square, docks, shops and great bars and restaurants. Easy checkout. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is fabulous. A bit noisy out the front but so close to Salamanca. It was also good value for money Parking was great. What really let it down was the complete lack of response from management to 4 attempts to contact them to request a date transfer. We got no response whatsoever. Just completely ignored. It left a sour taste.

When we got delayed in Hobart due to the cyclone in NZ we looked up Last Minute for a place that was walkable to city centre and attractions. This delightful little place was perfect- communication was helpful and easy, and we enjoyed our extra two days!

These are the oldest operating guest houses in Hobart and the rooms are fittingly old fashioned, with high ceilings, casements windows and fireplaces. The feeling is of 'old world' when you stay here and then step out the wooden door to explore Salamanca and the harbour. For self-contained space with all the trimmings in sought after Battery Point, this was perfect. We will be back.

Stayed in 58b, we could hear the people walking around above our apartment, apartment is street facing so there were people walking by all night, we could hear people talking and screaming at different parts of the night/early morning walking past. Stayed 2 nights, bed was a little hard, shower needed better cleaning. Walking distance to the harbour is about 10 to 15 minutes which was great! Not a bad short stay!

This beautiful place was very comfortable with all amenities available and situated close to Salamanca, many dining options, shopping and the wharfe area. Clean and comfortable room with stylish decor and lovely outlook of Mt Wellington.
