Nice Appartement
Had a good time here. We were 2 adults from Germany and specially enjoyed the two separated bedrooms with large beds. The flat offered everything you need in a nice and quiet neighborhood. For example the cascades brewery is only a short walk through the park away. Communication with John was super easy and he solved everything perfectly fast.

Great location, quirky styling
Clean & comfortable. Stairs are very steep and would be challenge for those with limited mobility or small kids. Beds were comfortable. Great location close to Hobart City, Salamanca, Battery Point and Sandy Bay. Some quirky decor made it a memorable stay.

Great place near town but not in town.
It was a lovely older apartment with plenty of room for the three of us. The owner's son met us at the apartment when we arrived quite late. There was breakfast provided for us which saved us the trouble. The apartment was very comfortable with a room each and a nice outlook. The stairs, which are mentioned in the listing, are steep but once you've been up and down them a couple of times they're fine. We were in the city a fair bit so staying just outside the town was handy, we walked down the hill and taxi-ed back up. For those fitter people, it'd be a great walk. Would highly recommend this property as an affordable, comfortable and gorgeous home away from home.

Home away from home
My sister and I took our 93 year old Mum on a holiday to Hobart. With 3 different sleeping areas, a good kitchen/lounge and parking outside the door it was just what we needed. Davey Street is so convenient and the best provisions store in Hobart is just in the next street.

Great place
Unique property. Host very friendly and helpful. Worked well for a long weekend. Convenient location, parking, comfortable beds, great deli/supermarket nearby and takeaways. Will look out next time I’m in Hobart.

Very pleased with accomm. Had everything we wanted in facilities. Very roomy. Well equipped kitchen. Needs a soap/shampoo rack/holder in shower. Beds very comfortable. A couple more TV networks would be nice. Overall great. Would definitely stay there again when in Hobart.

Stunning view
The view of Mt Wellington was a real asset. The property was comfortable but as there in heatwave, airconditioner struggled and no flyscreens. Be great in normal Hobart weather. Location great, close to hop on hop off bus stop and city. As shown in pictures stairs to main apartment are very steep with heavy suitcases. Breakfast provisions were good, beds were very comfortable.

Very convenient location in Sth Hobart
We enjoyed our stay at Toogooloowa 2, easily walked in to Hobart each day. The stairs were steep but we were prepared for that, having seen the photos, and we did speculate on the original use for this building behind the main residence. Hosts John and Jason were friendly and helpful, thanks for the supplies too.

Comfortable stay at Davey Street
Host was obliging with check in around 8pm. Really appreciated the milk, bread, tea and coffee in the accommodation after a late arrival. Bed linen was lovely and beds very comfortable. The blind in my room was broken and might be helpful to mention the stairs to the main living/sleeping/ bathroom area are steep and narrow.

Handy Location
Handy location to all areas of Hobart and southern Tasmania. Lovely views from bedroom windows of Mt Wellington. An older style self contained unit. Could be improved with a bit of an upgrade and more cleaning.

Homely and convenient
Had everything we needed (hair dryer, iron, milk, toast etc). Really interesting and beautiful decor. Great views. Private. Super convenient location - we walked pretty much everywhere. Also Jason looked after our luggage after we checked out so we could tour around all day. Only thing is the stairs are really steep so probably not ideal if you have small children.

Fantastic concerted old stables, beds were very comfy and lots of room for our family. We were a bit hesitant to use the outside verandah with our small kids as the railing didn’t look very substantial and the stairs were very steep. Also some of the kitchen utensils were a bit dirty but overall it was a good stay.

We enjoyed a short stay, and found the apartment to be clean with comfy beds, and a good range of breakfast options. We also walked to the CBD, which took about half an hour. Nice views to Kunanyi as well.

Tired old house
This property does not match the description. It is in fact a tired old house that needs serious up keep. The 2 bedroom apartment that we stayed in was in desperate need of a makeover and a good clean. Cob webs hung from lights , linen was stained and dust was prominent. One of the arm chairs was broken with dirty cushions. On a positive the bathroom was clean and shower water pressure good. Externally the gardens are over grown and weed filled.

Roomy apartment
Enjoyed our stay here. Good size apartment with everything we needed. Simple breakfast food provided (4 eggs had double yolks!). Nice area with fantastic view to Mt Wellington. Beds were comfy. 7 min walk to Ginger Brown cafe (very good) and half an hour into town.

Great location to explore Hobart!
We stayed 2 nights which was perfect for this property, but could definitely stay longer if required. Close to local supermarkets, on the road to Mount Wellington, and a pleasant walking distance to the Salmanaca dock area(but also easy to drive there). Living area not large, but as a holiday rental totally fine. Also appreciate the owners allowing our young children to interact with the chickens! Thanks for your hospitality.

Toogooloowa
Unit 2 at Toogooloowa is simple, clean and well appointed unit with a lot of charm and character. It's only a short drive/walk to the docks has fantastic views of Mt Wellington. Our kids loved the chickens in the back yard. We'll definitely recommend and stay again,

Comfortable and cheap stay
The property was comfortable and warm even on the coldest weekend of the year for Hobart, with good doonas and heating in the lounge. John was easily contactable by phone and met us for early check in. Two issues for us: there was no working I nternet despite this not being communicated before arrival. We were in town for work and it was a big inconvenience. There was also an absolutely out of control any problem at the house - we only had some small food scraps on the kitchen bin (which had a lid) and came home to thousands of ants crawling up the staircase banister, wall and into the kitchen. Hopefully this can be tended to immediately!

A great place close to the CBD of Hobart. There was a good stocked larder and the hosts were very generous with a welcome gift of fresh laid eggs and basic breakfast goods. Would highly recommend this place to stay!

Pretty run down. Had a recent water leak and was moldy and smelly
When we arrived the owner let us in with the news that there had been a water leak - the downstairs carpet was wet and smelt. It certainly was smelly and we suspect starting to get moldy - both my wife and daughter suffered breathing problems during our stay. The accomodation is very cramped for 4 let alone 6. There is a 3 seater sofa and two uncomfortable chairs and the smallest 4 seater dining table. The bathroom was very small and required cleaning - the toilet smelt. All in all a disappointing stay for rhe money. We loved Hobart though and have since had brilliant stays in homes in Coles Bay and Launceston. We've stayed in various homes thorugh many web based rental sites all over Australia, New Zealand and Italy and have had wonderful experiences until this point. I just wasn't our luck this time to stay in a gem....

What a beautiful property with views over mount Wellington.
Would highly recommend this property; we stayed in the converted old stables. On arrival we were greeted by our host, John who showed us around this comfortable and charming "home from home". There was fresh milk in the fridge and free range eggs from his own chickens. Situated within half an hour of the airport, Mount Wellington and the town centre ( which is five minutes away). Would stay here again.
