The Original Turtle's Nest- Classic 1950's Oceanfront 5br Cottage in Surf City

This classic 1950’s cottage offers two levels with interior and exterior stairs for your family’s convenience. The main level upstairs welcomes you with the warm wood tones of the knotty pine walls and the charm of yesteryear, with splashes of coastal color. Sink your toes into the new plush carpet and 2 comfy couches. Ocean views and sounds can be enjoyed from the LR and DR as well as both oceanfront bedrooms,(K & Q); the 3rd. a twin bedroom has a partial view. The ground level apartment offers extra space. Tile floor with a seating and small dining area as well as a second kitchen, two bedrooms and game room, make this level ideal for additional family or young adults in your group. The ocean front covered porch is just the spot for taking in the salt air breezes, outside dining, or reading your book. While the large open deck is the best place for soaking up the sun’s rays and enjoying the view of the beach from the rocking chairs. All the charm of the 1950’s and an easy 6 block, 1/2 mile walk on the beach or street, to the heart of Surf City Town and all it has to offer!

We had a very nice week. Great location and we enjoyed the rocking chairs on the deck and also the covered porch. We wish the bathrooms down stairs were nicer and the ovens were standard size to accommodate cooking for a family.

Love this house

So far, this is our family's favorite place to stay when we visit Topsail Beach. The house is clean and right on the beach! It doesn't get better than that!

Our favorite vacation

We have stayed here before but love it so much we wanted to stay here again. It is the perfect place for a family on a budget. Close enough to shopping that the teenagers were happy. On the beach with a sun deck so momma was happy. The owner is very responsive and the house was spotless! Best vacation and our number one choice for a Topsail Island vacation.

Great simple house right on the beach!

The house was perfect for us. Not fancy, but had everything we needed and most importantly directly on the beach. The porch was fantastic to watch the waves. Comfortable living room and beds. Kitchen had anything you could need.

Awesome location within walking distance of pier and Daddy Macs (our favorite lunch/dinner spot). Marriage proposal in our group so extra special. We will be back!

Great location. Great deck. Older home, but photos accurately show home. There were issues with the air conditioning during our stay, but I think the owners addressed it immediately before next renters. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect beach vacation!

We had a great time! The house is in an ideal location with the most beautiful views. The beach is right there! It looks exactly like the photos but even better. Very thoughtful touches throughout, from kitchen basics to beach toys. We love it and hope to make this an annual stay! Thank you, it is a wonderful home and we appreciate you sharing it with us!

Great oceanfront stay!

This place was perfect for our family of 7. Teenagers lived it up in the basement apartment. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The large deck was the perfect place for relaxing and the covered porch was a great option to get out of the sun. Short walk to the pier which we took advantage of several times. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent beach vacation spot

Loved our stay at Turtle’s Nest! Bigger than we needed, but our teenage son loved having the basement apartment to himself. Location was great- right on the beach, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck on the days the beach was more crowded. Plenty of kitchen wares to use which was especially helpful to us as we wanted to avoid restaurants Easy to communicate with owner through this app.

Loved this house!

Started out with some "hiccups", but owner was very attentive and quick to respond/resolve. Great communication. House was clean and location is amazing! We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful time there and would definitely recommend this home!

Loved that deck

Had a great stay. Wish there were beach chairs/ umbrellas and linens supplied, but we made due. We would rent again as that deck with ocean view made it all worth it. Kitchen ( dishes and pans etc) was well stocked as far as our needs. We also had a friend bring her bbq over for us to borrow for a couple days … which helped. Great location! Easy walk to local market and restaurants. Great communication with owner.

Great beach trip

7 in our party with age ranges 20 to 88 years old. Having three bedrooms on same floor as kitchen and living/ dining room was perfect for my elderly mother and disabled husband. My brother enjoys his own space so the downstairs apartment was perfect. Shower lower level very small and can only accommodate small adult but was ok for my daughter. Upstairs kitchen a bit small and was tight if more than two people in there trying to cook, but we managed ok. Downstairs kitchen actually bigger but didn’t ever cook down there. Still a cute functional older home in good condition. Best was the closeness to the beach even though that may not be a good thing in high surf! We will stay again!
