I guess being Black, she'll never get used to this. The bartender was charging my wife for everything she ordered, whereas, the other guests were allowed to put charges on their tab. “Peaceful resort with one communal mineral bath and one cold plunge for hotel guests. Order spa treatments at front desk. Really relaxing and beautiful setting! Delicious food at Isadore’s restaurant at golf club.”

“Overall Skamania Lodge is really great and a great place to visit. We booked two Premier King rooms and they both were overlooking the river. The view and the rooms itself were really great. The reason to give poor ratings is because of the staff. Our room heater/cooling system was not functioning and we tried to call for help at Guest services. None of them came till 20mins post that, and given it was getting late, we called again. The person at the front desk who said his name was Derek, said...

“I am so happy i stayed here again! This little cabin was the perfect place for me. The bed was amazingly comfy. Air worked great. TV is not the highest tech but who needs that when you’re in this place? The guy who checked me in went above and beyond to help me be somewhere i could be secure and make sure my kayak wasn’t out in the open, and he was extremely kind. Highly recommend this sweet stop.”

“The motel was overrated. It lacks some basic services, no continental breakfast, not enough light in the room, no closet, bathroom door jams all the times. I would not stay at this property again.”

“It was 97° and the room stayed nice and cool. The location is right out of town, which was nice! The staff gave a few excellent recommendations for food/drink (thank you for that). We enjoyed our stay and the area.”

“The Lightwell hotel provided an excellent stay. Every staff member we interacted with were helpful and friendly. The hotel was beautiful and had nice amenities. From the base camp to the bar, everything g was excellent. If you are planning to stay, the rooms were small, but very comfortable. When staying at the Lightwell, make sure to visit the rooftop terrace. Great views of the river!”

“The cabin was very clean, and communication with the hosts was excellent. They responded quickly and were very helpful throughout our stay. However, the amenities could use some improvement. The check-in process was more complicated than expected due to the amount of documentation that needed to be uploaded. Additionally, the checkout time was too early. With a 4:00 PM check-in and a 10:00 AM checkout, it felt like there was very limited time to enjoy the cabin beyond simply sleeping there.”

“A historic property that is within walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Wishing the windows had screens (to keep insects out). Towels are badly in need of replacing. Room was clean. Definitely need ear plugs if you’re sensitive to outside noise. Not likely to stay here again.”
