we always love staying at Island Colony.we have been in many different rooms. check in was easy and the room was clean. this room needs a frying pan and the the tv is tricky, too many remotes to figure out. the start up kit is a great idea and of course we appreciate the chocolates and bottled water. the location and amenities are perfect. we'll be back for a month in April (Vacasa property different room). thank you

Bathroom

The bathroom had a faint odor of urine and the sliding door was somewhat difficult to close because the wheels had come off the track. While the space felt outdated, overall the stay was pleasant.

Family reunion

Location was great … walked all Waikiki locations and the car was needed to do our own family excursions. Facility parking was secure and easy to use. Clean, beds/comfy, air conditioner was noisy and leaked where the water bucket container filled and service needed to be contacted to empty—they responded when called 2-days later—my son emptied it as water flowed down from the balcony. Recommendation is to provide the information on locking the door when exiting . No instructions given. Great stay otherwise.

Great Location, but Needs Some TLC

The location and the building amenities are great. The unit was clean, but needs some attention to detail. For instance the toilet paper holder needs fixing, along with the toilet flushing handle, the dresser drawers don't work well, the curtain rod is not very secure, the bathtub has seen better days, and the bathroom faucet needs replacing. In addition the hot water in the kitchen faucet has no pressure at all. If it were my unit I would also update the artwork and just give the place a refresher. However, we are very grateful to have stayed there. Thank you very much.

Filthy/ outdated room with great location

If all you care about is location, This is great. Don’t expect owner to provide extra towels regardless of the length of your stay. Even though this is a beach and pool area one towel per person was not enough for 4 days. The room is outdated, there was damaged to the tub and ceiling. Upon arrival the bed skirts were filthy. The AC unit is very loud so don’t expect to get any good rest. I would not stay here again. Mahalo

Location isn’t all.

The place is very well located with a beautiful view, of Honolulu, the amenities of the building are very nice and well maintained. Sadly we found dirty plates in the kitchen, stored as clean, the towel hanger in the bathroom was loose, the tub has a hole with sharp edges that needs to be fixed, the curtains aren’t sufficient (in length) to prevent the sunlight in the morning if you want to sleep late. There is ways to park your car outside without having to pay the parking fee that ads up pretty fast. But off course we had a great time, since Oahu is magical.

Great spot away from tourism

I loved staying here. It is close to the shopping strip but not enough to overwhelm you with tourism. The only thing was there was candy wrappers under the bed when we checked in.

Great location for walking

Short walk to the beach and any restaurant or bar you'd like to go for. Nice pool and hot tub. The gym is a bust, it's a tiny little room and you have to pay extra to go from the front desk. Cons: property hadn't been maintained well. We opened the door to leave one day and the handle popped off, and there were cracked glasses in the cupboard that somebody had just washed and put away. Finally there was a comment from a previous guest about the sliding door sticking and the property manager replied that it would be taken care of, but it hadn't went we went there. It sticks and you can't slide it properly, it's very noisy. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the benefits of the price and location offset some of the negatives.

Nice condo - everything we needed.

Grat condo with amazing views of Waikiki. One of the upper levels gave us everything we needed and it was great to watch sunsets from our futon on the balcony. All of the issues in a previous review have been fixed. Also it was great to have the two beds pushed together as one queen. Worked well. It is a bit bright in there so bring eyemasks to help sleeping. Would recommend a darker blackout blind. Five stars.

Great location!

Great location near buses, grocery, shops, 15 minute walk to the beach. Bed is super confortable. Pool and hot tub are great! The location is a bit noisy, the blinds were broken (I did not mind), and one of the two burner of cooktop was not working. I am difficult and I found the condo was not super clean. Very minimalist condo, a few items were missing to make it great. Missing dish cloth in kitchen, cutting board and placemat. Would be nice to have hooks to hang towels in bathroom. Overall I really enjoyed it and I recommand it.
