Welcome to our cabin in Hulu Langat! 🌿

If you’re looking for a peaceful nature cabin near Kuala Lumpur, a romantic countryside getaway, or somewhere a little different to stay in Malaysia, we’d love to welcome you.

Our cosy cabin sits within our family’s 4-acre property in Hulu Langat, Selangor, surrounded by tropical greenery, gardens, ponds and the sounds of kampung life.

But what makes this place special isn’t just the nature.

It’s the art, the people and the stories behind it.

My father, Juhari Said, is a Malaysian printmaker, and my mother, Sharifah Suzana spent years making this place their home, filling it with artworks, creative spaces and beautiful little corners that have grown naturally over time.

We’re not a hotel or a resort. This is our family home, and we’re happy to share a little part of it with travellers who appreciate art, nature and the simple pleasure of slowing down.

Imagine waking up to birds instead of traffic, enjoying a slow morning surrounded by greenery, or spending an afternoon reading, sketching or simply doing nothing.

Our cabin is a cosy space for couples, solo travellers and anyone who needs a little break from the city.

You don’t need a packed itinerary. Sometimes the nicest thing about being here is having nowhere you need to be.

If you’ve been travelling around Kuala Lumpur, this is also a lovely way to experience a quieter, greener side of Malaysia.

🎨 Stay Somewhere with a Story

Art has always been part of our everyday life.

My father’s printmaking studio is located within the property, alongside artworks and creative spaces that have developed over the years.

Since 2010, we’ve also welcomed artists from different parts of the world through our Barehands Residency programme.

Some come to create, some to exchange ideas, and others simply to spend time in an environment where art and nature come together.

We love that our home has become a meeting place for people from different backgrounds, and we’re always happy when guests take an interest in its story.

You might find yourself surrounded by artworks, discovering a little about Malaysian printmaking, or simply enjoying the atmosphere of a place shaped by artists.

It’s not something you’ll find in a typical holiday rental.

If you’re curious about art, why not make your stay a little more memorable?

We can arrange a hands-on printmaking experience, where you can discover the process of creating your own print.

It’s a lovely activity for couples, creative travellers or anyone who enjoys trying something new.

No artistic experience is necessary!

Workshops are optional, subject to advance booking and charged separately.

🌳 A Taste of Malaysian Kampung Life

One of our favourite things about living here is being surrounded by nature.

Across the property, you’ll find tropical trees, gardens, flowering plants, ponds and even our family chickens.

We’re continually planting and caring for the landscape, so there’s always something growing or changing.

You’ll hear birds in the morning, insects in the evening and the occasional sounds of countryside life.

It’s a little different from staying in the city, and that’s exactly why we love it.

If you’re visiting Malaysia from overseas, we hope you’ll enjoy seeing this side of the country too.

It’s a great choice if you’d like to experience nature without making a long journey to another part of Malaysia.

You can spend your days exploring the surrounding area or simply enjoy staying in.

For international visitors, our cabin makes a lovely addition to a Kuala Lumpur holiday, especially if you’re looking for unique accommodation beyond the usual city hotels.

We recommend arranging your own transport, as we’re located in a countryside setting.

We want you to feel comfortable and at home, so here’s a little about what to expect.

Our cabin is located within our private family property. You’ll have your own cabin accommodation, while other parts of the estate are used by our family or for artistic activities.

We appreciate guests who enjoy peaceful surroundings and respect the privacy of everyone living and working here.

As we’re surrounded by nature, you may encounter insects, small wildlife and the usual sounds of kampung life.

We don’t allow parties or loud gatherings, and only registered guests are permitted unless we’ve agreed otherwise in advance.

If you’re hoping to visit the studio or arrange a printmaking workshop, just let us know beforehand and we’ll see what we can arrange.
