“My wife and I loved our stay; the ‘tiny house’ was wonderful; lots of room, cozy, welcoming, and tastefully decorated. It has a small wood stove that creates a very peaceful romantic space where you can be quiet with your thoughts and enjoy the peaceful sound of a crackling fire with your loved one . “We had a fantastic stay at Frank & Val's place on Heckman's Island. The river is so peaceful to wake up to at sunrise with the sound of loons, and we were also greeted each dawn by deer quietly roaming around the cottages. There were lots of great movies for the kids to enjoy, and we really appreciated all of the complimentary, organic & unscented amenities provided in the kitchen, laundry and bathroom. Highly recommend this location for your stay in the Lunenburg area!”

The host was amazing. So welcoming, so friendly, kind and helpful. We arrived late on a rainy, foggy night. Too late to stop at a store. “Wow! Whalesback Cottage was the Nova Scotia oceanside escape that we were looking for. Our own private space – no traffic … no crowds … and the only sounds were the waves hitting the rocks. We spent countless pleasant hours watching the tides change the view … scanned the ocean with binoculars looking for the whales folks see occasionally.
