This cabin has the potential to be beautiful. However it was quite unclean in general, needing a deep clean. Not particularly well equipped and dishes/glasses in poor condition and needed washed before use. Only two bath towels provided. Fridge had nfoid left

It’s a cabin setting there’s a few bugs and washer/dryer didn’t work and the furniture is older. Great place to get away from the city noise but needs to be updated and the GPS is about 3/4 of mile away from where the cabin is actually located.

What a wonderful cabin! And in a beautiful setting. Lovely and quiet. Cabin had everything we needed and a wonderful ambience. Red squirrel up the tree right opposite was magic!

DISGUSTING DO NOT BOOK

Disgusting property. Booked for 2 nights but reluctantly stayed one. Filthy, full of cobwebs, bed falling apart and smelled. Cabin is completely neglected and looks derelict from outside. Slept fully clothed as bedding didn’t feel or smell clean. Absolutely awful. DO NOT STAY THERE! Disappointed that hotels.com even agree to host this place!

Needs maintenance and a good clean

The black grouse cabin really needs to be checked by someone, have some maintenance work carried out and have a good clean not simply just a change of bedding/towels for new guests. A few issues Balcony needs repair, rotten wood Several areas thick with dust Chipped glass Only one wine glass No kitchen sink plug Bathroom wash hand basin plug stuck so can’t use Previous guests dirty washing in wardrobe, (probably still there) One hob ring difficult to turn off Access road is awful some people may find difficult. Basically tired uncared for chalet. We would not use again and wouldn’t recommend

We were disappointed in the cleanliness and the shower was very slippy and the hand basin was unsafe plug didn’t work. The fire extinguisher was empty and being used. The tv didn’t work at all and there was dvd but nothing to play them on games and the dominoes were missing. It was dusty and uneven to walk on I found it difficult to walk on using my walking stick. I found the sofas too low for me but might be fine for others. The shower when we got it working was good and they did supply us with a bath mat for it. It would have been nice to meet someone to show you how things worked instead of finding paperwork in a drawer to read . I have to say that I was disappointed with what we got for the money we paid for it. I don’t think we would stay again.

Cozy cabin but would not recommend

Hard to find the cabins. We used our GPS and the address given to the cabin and still ended up at the wrong place and had to ask for directions. No signs at all. The cabins were "hidden" behind a hostel. Very small and rough way up to the house, also it seemed like a building site on the way up to the cabin. When we finally arrived at the cabin the key was in the door and the lights were on. We weren't sure if we could just enter or if we had to check-in since there were no information on that part. We went down to the hostel to ask in the recepetion if they knew anyting, but the recepetion was empty and no staff were nearby. We decided to just enter without anyone knowing we had arrived. The first impression was that the cabin was very cozy and the view was nice. We enjoyed our stay except for the fact that alot of the things in the kitchen weren't clean at all, such as: oven trays, cups, plates etc. And the shower curtain wasn't very fresh. There was supposed to be wi-fi according to our booking, but the cabins do not have any wi-fi which was very annoying. And we found it odd that not once during our 5 days stay no one came to greet us welcome, ask if we needed anything, had any questions etc. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay! Scotland is beautiful! We would recommend to do grocery shopping in Inverness where you can find bigger stores with better prices. It's approx. a 40 minutes drive

This property is beautiful and well kept, the owner sent all access info in advance and when we arrived the property was clean warm and stocked with essentials. This was our second stay at the log cabins and we will DEFINITELY come back again.

Lovely one bedroom log cabin just 6 miles from Loch Ness Museum etc Really good amenities in the cabin - washing machine, dryer, dishwasher etc Plenty of hot water Good size fridge/freezer Only thing stopping me giving 5 stars was the dust and cobwebs in the bedroom - other than that a fantastic little place

View fantastic. Basic cleaning ok. Underbed large balls of dog hair and thick dust. Undercupboards ( which is open) our dog found loads of food, dog bisciuts etc. We should have been paid £15 for our dog cleaning up not charged £15. Road to cabin is treacherous and having to walk up and down it to car was dangerous and slippy. Not at all suitable for older or infirm people. This should be HIGHLIGHTED when booking glad we were only there overnight.

Below average stay.

The stay was just okay. Overall cleanliness of the property was very poor - very dusty, smelled of smoke even though smoking is prohibited?, Dirt marks on furniture, sofa has definitely seen better days, mattress was a really uncomfortable spring one, definitely needs replaced as we felt every spring. On a plus check in was very simple.
