âIf you use a wheelchair make sure you state this when booking. Accessible suites are only available on the 2nd floor and the lift does not go to the third floor. We were on the third so we had some steps to use and drag the chair up. An access ramp is at the side of the building but, if you cannot do stairs, you have to wheel through the outside bar patio in the front, into the back of the bar, through the restaurant and out into the lobby. âFantastic place totally out of the ordinary. Five-star attention by the staff made us feel welcome from the start. Great romantic room and Full English breakfast served at the table. We had dinner in the cosy restaurant with a menu leaning heavily on seafood, for obvious reasons. After a walk along the seafront we came back for a coffee in the nice pub-part of the restaurant. Our room (404) had total sea view and we could see Portsmouth across the sound. We'll come back next time we're in the...

âStayed at Haven Hall for a long weekend, the hotel and grounds are exceptional, with views overlooking the sea. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished and the extra large king sized bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast was extensive, served in a lovely dining room looking onto the gardens. The owners and staff are welcoming and friendly - overall great hotel in a relaxed atmosphere, would highly recommend.â
âVery quirky property and we loved our one night stay. Extremely convenient for public transport (bus and ferry), shopping, dining, sightseeing etc.,. Super bar with LPs and memorabilia plus a robot to serve drinks! Shame the lift wasnât working. Quite a lot of stairs and I thought it was going to be noisy because they are wooden and it was the end of Cowes week, but we had a very peaceful night. Can see us coming back to this place for a longer stay. â

Helen has great knowledge of the Island. The breakfast was great as well. The view from the room was amazing especially the sunrise.â
âLoved our stay here, sad it was only for one night. The staff that checked us in was very friendly and very welcoming. Next day for breakfast the staff, I didnât catch her name, very lovely too. My little daughters being divas loved the style of the hotel and the big chandelier đ will defo return :) â
âMy husband and I are Swedes in our mid twenties, and we went to Portsmouth for a weekend getaway. Next time we go to Portsmouth, we will definitely stay at The Clarence again. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was very nice, and being Swedes we really care about the breakfast quality. Try the salmon egg muffin, you won't be disappointed!â
âOur second stay in this group of Boutique Hotels, and we were given a complimentary upgrade which was amazing!. The group of hotels have a small number of rooms, which makes them ideal for a quiet stay and the rooms are lovely and comfy. We had breakfast included which was nice and as part of their chain there is a local pub just up the road to have a meal in, should you choose. We had Sunday dinner there was lovely. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and helpful, overall 5 stars all day...
