Come to LAKE_TIME and enjoy a CLEAN and COMFORTABLE stay in this charming historic home in James Creek. This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath has been completely renovated with a modern, fully equipped kitchen, new hybrid mattresses, bedding, outfitted with new and antique furniture.

Relax and connect with family and friends in the open layout of the kitchen, dining and living areas and retreat to uncluttered bedrooms to rest and recharge. Enjoy the pressed concrete patio, covered gazebo with seating and fire pit out back. Thoughtful design creates spaces for you to make your own memories, not be reminded that you're renting "someone else's" home.

The house is 1/2 mi to Aitch boat launch on Raystown Lake and a short drive to town and services. It is less than a 10 minute drive to both Seven Points and Raystown Resort. 

Join us for a PSU home football game and spend the weekend at the house, as it is just under an hour from the stadium. The house is perfect for two families to share, making it a great place to meet and enjoy together.

Loved it!

We had such a wonderful trip! This place had special touches, many “extras”and was a warm, welcoming, comfortable environment. The kitchen was well equipped as were the bathrooms and bedrooms. Aitch Boat Launch was very convenient and a nice place to launch the boat. I’d definitely come back!!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home with our family! One of the biggest highlights for us was having two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor, which made things so much more comfortable and accessible for the older members of our group.All four bedrooms had incredibly comfortable mattresses—everyone commented on how well they slept. The layout of the house was perfect, with a spacious, open main living and kitchen area that gave us plenty of room to gather, cook, and relax together.The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could have needed—from cookware and dishes for a large group to thoughtful extras like spices, plastic wrap, foil, coffee, and sugar. We were even impressed to find a detailed “map” of the kitchen cabinets and drawers, which made it so easy to find what we needed.The design and décor of the home struck a perfect balance between modern comforts and historic charm—we were especially taken with the beautiful timber wall on the first floor. The whole home was spotless, well-organized, and clearly cared for with attention to detail.We loved spending time on the back patio each day, sipping coffee in the morning and enjoying a glass of wine in the afternoon.Check-in was smooth, and Mary, the host, was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed after we arrived.Our only regret is not staying longer! Three nights wasn’t enough—we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

Looking forward to returning to Historic Home near Raystown Lake

My family enjoyed our 3 days at this home. Check in was easy. The house was as described. The house was the best equipped rental that we have experienced. It had everything we needed including paper supplies, spices, coffee and some food staples including salad dressings. There was a first aid kit and Q-tips in the bathroom. It had everything that we needed to make our time near Raystown Lake memorable. We hope to make this an annual trip.

Charming Home

Highly recommend this lovely home! Perfect blend of historic charm and modern convenience. It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need and very organized. We referred to the kitchen diagram often. Excellent communication from the property owners.

Great place to stay!

We all loved the property, old house with new vibes. Everything you could ever need was there. Loved that everything was clearly marked and if we had a question, the answer was available on the refrigerator! (In notes!) Kids loved the bunk beds, Dad loved the campfire, Mom loved the ice machine, Papa loved the the huge shower and Nana loved the amazing living room wall.

Making Memories with Family

The best decision and excellent pick for our growing family's vacation. Fit our family's needs and comfort level perfectly. Appreciated the space both inside and out. Was not expecting the thoughtful amenities such as laundry supplies, dish soap, dishwasher pods, garbage bags, misc. array of spices, flour, sugar, cooking oil, plastic wrap, foil, various sized storage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soaps, even Q-tips, and the list goes on. There are a lot of VRBO's out there that don't offer these types of amenities. Mary, owner, was very responsive and pleasant to any contact and also provided additional helpful information. We would definitely stay here again when we need more space than our camper can accommodate.

Wedding week

We were in town for our sons wedding at Raystown Lake. We were able to put together the rehearsal dinner in the well stocked, spacious kitchen. We were a group of 7 people from 3 different states and we were able to be comfortable and truly enjoy our time! If we ever come this way again we would absolutely stay here again!

Great place near Raystown Lake

The Marklesburg property was great and very convenient for all that raystown lake has to offer. We had two families with a total of six kids from 5 to 14. There was plenty of sleeping space, back yard and tvs to keep all the kids entertained. Two bedrooms on the first floor to give both sets of parents privacy. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything that allowed us to eat-in every night, cook breakfast, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Mary’s place again for another biking or boating trip back to Raystown.

Well Maintained Home

Excellent stay! House was well prepared and clean. Plenty of space both indoors and outdoors to enjoy our vacation. Location was superb - close to 7 Points launch! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient Raystown Lake adventure!

Beautiful Home

We stayed here with our extended family (10 people) and were very pleased with the amount of space and cleanliness of the home. The home is extremely clean and very tastefully decorated making for a very comfortable stay. Mary and Dan thought of everything one might need while away. The kitchen was well stocked with everything from pots and pans to dishes and seasonings and spices. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and provided a great nights rest. Laundry access with laundry soap provided was a nice amenity. The home is just minutes away from a boat launch, which we found very convenient. We had one minor problem and Mary and Dan were quick to get it resolved as soon as they could and very apologetic. They graciously offered us an extended check out time, which was much appreciated. It gave us more time on the lake before leaving. We highly recommend this home!

Raystown Lake Gettaway

This property is very nice and clean. The owner made sure that all of our needs were met. We had comfy beds and tons of amenities. We were very pleased with our stay! Would completely recommend this property for a girls gettaway, family get together or just a weekend at the lake.
