Absolutely Perfect Family Vacation

This house came recommended by a friend and it certainly did not disappoint. Amazing location on the beach, well outfitted with amenities, comfortable and casual (old school), and the service was outstanding. We would highly recommend this house and rental company - we will certainly be back!

This trip is exactly what we needed!

We all loved this location, the home, the kitchen, the sleeping arrangements and comfort. The two decks were well used by our small but very close group. The middle deck was fantastic for evening gathering, while the back deck was great for fresh breezes and easy access to the water.

Charming and Private Beach Home

We have stayed a lot of places on the various islands, but this one is by far our new favorite! Cute and very private older beach house with an unbeatable location if you need to recharge. Property manager Robbie was great to communicate with and everything was as listed. We will definitely be back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rustic ocean front property. Well managed! Clean but no ac and it was unseasonable warm. Still we had a wonderful time and would rent with 2papayas again. In fact we already booked for next year!

The house was in a literally perfect location right on the water. We could walk just a few steps to our own beach. Sunsets were incredible. Robbie was really communicative and helpful. Can’t wait to return!

Sleep to the sounds of the surf breaking on the reef

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: great location on the edge of a sandy beach where you can swim or snorkel on calm days. It is walking distance to the little general store. It has a dry well equipped kitchen. The furniture and at least the master bed are Rey comfortable. Since you are on the edge of a peninsula the surf is surrounded by sound all day. Driving less than 10 minutes to Hapuna Beach.

beachside cottage

A beach house from another era, right on the beach. cool snorkeling (though sometimes lower visibility) right outside the house—almost ran into a big beautiful turtle as we came over somelava—also very close to guided trips that can take you to very beautiful and more clear spots off shore (we enjoyed our Liquid Hawaii trip). Property management firm that handles the rental is professional and helpful and gracious. The church next door is low key—even on Sunday—and the beach is too. You’ll benefit from some water shoes here and other places in this area because of lava rocks.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: everything was great. suggestion: plant more vegetation and trees to increase privacy. since the little forest along the road and trees along the drive were decimated , the house feels very exposed. I think this would be easily remedied. love Robbie and Shirona they're the the best

Beautiful and Relaxing Retreat

Great stay at this relaxing Puako beach house. This was the perfect getaway for a relaxing beach vacation for my small family. My husband and I stayed six nights with our ten-year old daughter. We could have easily fit another couple and child in the space. The house is older but very well-maintained and clean, providing a very authentic Hawaiian experience. Don't let the age of the house hold you back at all - the A-frame style is precious and the cool breeze in the evening is a perfect sunset setting with literally a private beach right in front of you. The house is also very well-stocked which I don't think any of the other reviews stated. Also, there was an early review of the bushes not providing privacy - I can guarantee you this is no longer a problem and the yard is carefully maintained and watered. We will definitely rent this house again on a future visit to the Big Island.

Exceeds expectations

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful set-up. A separate building for the master suite, one queen bedroom downstairs and twin beds upstairs. Steps to a little beach/cove that is as close to private as one can get! Easy in and out, the 1- and 3-year-olds loved it and we all felt safe with them playing in the water. Kitchen well stocked. The staff of Trinty were super friendly and great communicators. The louvered windows don't really keep the dust out if the wind is blowing, but a small thing to deal with. However, if you have health issues with dust, be aware. Highly recommended

We had an amazing stay at the Puako house! It was spotlessly clean, exactly as listed, and felt like a true home away from home. There were no surprises — everything was as described or better. The house was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, bedding, and even beach toys for our kids. The shady lawn was great for relaxing, and we loved being right on the beach. The snorkeling out front was incredible — sea turtles and vibrant fish just steps from the door. The house has plenty of fans throughout, which helped keep things comfortable. That said, the only downside is that it does get hot during the day, especially in the warmer months, so be prepared for warm afternoons and evenings indoors. Thankfully for all the fans!Still, the overall experience was fantastic. The hosts were wonderful, responsive, and thoughtful. We’ve stayed at several homes during our trip, and this was by far a favorite. If you’re looking for a peaceful, clean, well-equipped oceanfront home, this is it. We hope to return again soon!

Perfect old Hawaii

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hale Puako was the perfect spot for our family. We have to older teenagers so the detached master bedroom was great! Being right on the water was fantastic. It can get very windy and since there are not traditional windows, you will hear it loudly. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend the house to anyone who is looking for a casual beach experience.

Hale Puako was great!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A sweet spot in Puako. There aren’t many old Puako places left and it was special to stay here. Had everything we needed and the location was great. Lots of gecko treats but that comes with the territory. We’ll stay here again.
