Puako är en av de mest soligaste destinationerna på Hawaii med en unik blandning av gammal Hawaii-charm och en av de mest orörda kustlinjerna på öarna. Varje dag fylls med ljudet från havet, kokosnötträd som svänger i den tropiska vinden och skönheten på Hawaii. Du delar havet med havssköldpaddor och spelar på en strand som är rik på havsliv. Din dag avslutas med en av de mest fantastiska solnedgångarna i världen

Typisk för husen vid stranden som har gjort Puako så älskad, är Hale Aloha perfekt för ett par som uppskattar en känsla av plats i ett perfekt underhållet strandhus på Hawaiian-stil. Den här egenskapen är perfekt för att slappa av och njuta av solsken och havsluft. Tillträde till havet ligger intill Hale Aloha som erbjuder ett idealiskt läge för fiske, snorkling, dykning, surfing, kajakpaddling och stå-up-paddling.

Hale Aloha byggdes på 1950-talet, men totalrenoverades utan att förlora sin gamla Hawaiian charm 2014. Denna färgglada och exceptionellt rena stuga har sakkunnigt renoverats och restaurerats med rolig och lekfull inredning. Allt är nytt, skåp, plantager dörrar, vitvaror i rostfritt stål, träluftsfönster, sängkläder, handdukar, köksutrustning och redskap, VVS-inventarier, brickor i badkar och kök, helt till ny färg inifrån och ut.

Det varma havet är din pool. Det är skyddat och bara 2–5 fot djupt med en mestadels sandbotten. Det är hem för gröna havssköldpaddor och färgglada fiskar. Strax bortom den revskyddade lagunen är den bästa snorkling, dykning och kajakpaddling på Hawaii. Vid lågvatten kommer tidvattenbassängerna att inspirera, och i januari till maj kan du titta på de 45 fot knölvalar som leker och bryter. Morgonpromenader längs den tvåfältiga Puako Beach Drive hittar du vid Puakos berömda forntida Hawaiianska helleristningar, det största exemplet på Petroglyphs i världen. Det finns också en mataffär i promenader
distans.

Another amazing stay

We’ve stayed at this property multiple times & will continue to because of the location & unique style of the property. This studio unit is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the larger resorts. It’s oceanfront which allows for great viewing of turtles, dolphins, whales & those amazing Hawaiian sunsets. The property owners are quick to reply if needed & check-in is easy. If you want to stay in a place where you feel that old time aloha spirit then Hale Aloha is the perfect place. We can’t wait to return … A Hui Huo (until next time)!Mahalo

Peaceful, Beautiful Location and Charming Cottage

Communication with Pam, Frank, Kathy and Jay was prompt and simple. Photos and description of the house we accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of peace and quiet after spending a week in Honolulu working. It was easy to relax and enjoy. Short drive to Kamuela, Waikoloa Village and Kona Airport. We had everything we needed here and the house was very comfortable and we look forward to visiting again!

Hale Aloha is AWESOME

This is our third year in a row that we have stayed at Hale Aloha and it is amazing every time. There is nothing fancy about his place but the purity of the experience is so great that we couldn't be happier having been there for another week. The sound of the ocean, the proximity of the water, the sense of privacy, the beauty of the sky, and the centrality of the location make this an unbeatable place to stay. We can't wait to return. Private Paradise in Puako !!

We stayed at the Hale Aloha in late September and had the most magical experience. The beach home was perfect for my son and I, it came stocked with everything we could need and the night breeze was just perfect. My absolute favorite part about our time on the Big Island was the snorkeling literally in the back yard!! The Mauna Kea and Hapuna resort were close for some fancy eats and the grocery store was a short drive and carried whatever we needed for the cabin. It was so hard to leave and I hope we are able to stay there again soon! Thank you for sharing your peice of paradise with us!!

Honeymoon in paradise

When I say this place has a magical charm and is absolute paradise, it doesn’t come close to giving it justice. If you like a lot of amenities, or room service, or maid service… This isn’t for you. But if you love the old school Hawaiian vibe, are looking for a place to immerse yourself in the person you are with, this is the perfect place to get lost in that love. We will be back! Pure magic!

Paradise found.

This is one of those places that selfishly I do not want to review for fear that it will become too popular, and I’ll never be able to visit it again. Where to begin? The Hale is just perfect Hawaii. First, location: Puako. It is an amazing, quiet spot that I thought didn’t exist anymore! There are numerous public shoreline access areas along the road - you should explore them all! There is access to the ocean less than a minute walk from the Hale. At low tide you can explore the tide pools, at high tide you can swim. If you like beautiful sand and shade, Beach 69 is about a 3 minute drive. Finally, for the nights you want “fancy” dinner, the Mauna Lani resort area is a short drive away. Ok, now let’s talk about the Hale itself. It is an amazing structure that was just perfect for two. The place was so incredibly clean when we arrived. It could be the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in. The view is spectacular, and we spent significant time just relaxing on the ocean front deck both during the day and night (we were lucky to see a shooting star!) The efficiency kitchen had everything we needed for our trip and more. Essential beach gear was also provided (chairs, umbrellas, towels). Slatted screened windows, kept the Hale completely comfortable no matter the time of day which encouraged much lounging in the perfectly positioned bed with a palm tree framed view of the pacific. The hosts were just as incredible as the home. Mahalo for your hospitality!

Can’t beat the view!

The driving directions were flawless. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The first three days the amount of mosquitoes in the bathroom and studio put a damper on our visit. Once we had those under control and always closing the screen doors behind us going to and from the deck it was great. Between the breeze from the ocean and the ceiling fan the house was always comfortable. If the humidity rose we would take a short walk to the ocean and sit in the shallow water of the bay. Puako General Store is 5 minutes away for beer, chip's and homemade chocolate chip cookies. But the best thing about this cottage is the deck over looking the ocean, almost below your feet. First thing in the morning sitting there with a cup of coffee and watching the tide change; it’s the best.

Great getaway

The location is just as described…right on the water. It’s in a quiet area. Perfect if you want to relax and enjoy nature. Like others we grilled often. Water in front of the property is beautiful but very rocky so not swimmable but great beaches are easy drives. Very responsive to our needs and questions. Absolutely loved it!

All you need

This place has all you need for a great Hawaiian vacation - most importantly it is right on the water. The kitchen is efficient, the bathroom good, the California king bed is awesome - especially for someone 6’5”. But to wake up every morning to the sound of the sea and have the ocean view all day is hard to beat. The best is the sunset with a margarita. Aloha!!

Slice of heaven, but showing need of maintenance

This was our second stay – and we absolutely love the location, and the views. Property manager Jay won the quickest response time award, hands-down, when we let him know that we needed decent beach chairs. The exterior of the house needs some maintenance – peeling paint, and a few spots on the deck that felt squishy, but nothing beats the views and waking up in bed to them. At the current rental rate, the house should be kept up well. Now, if we could only teach the 3 neighbor boys, who were on their first beachfront vacation, that not everything needs to be said in a scream – especially at 6 AM, and after dark! 🙄

Best stay on the big island

Great Stay

The cottage is exactly as described on the website, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Sitting on the deck and watching the whales was the best use of our time, and we basically grilled our meals and relaxed. We definitely hope to return.

Adventure in Paradise

Pleasant Puako Perch

For two adventurous septuagenarians, this elevated cottage provided a comfortable place to watch the rock pools below fill and empty with the tides and be visited by birds, turtles and an occasional fisherman. The cottage is well equipped despite its small kitchen; we slept well, and Jay responded "instantly" to all our requests for assistance. We love Puako for its safe walks, nearby amenities and excellent location for exploring Kohala, so we'd love to return.

Third time here - and for good reason!!!!!!

This cottage is our happy place. Stunning view of the ocean, always the sound of the surf, total privacy, a super comfortable bed, and a fantastic shower! It is a cottage so expect to enjoy barbecuing. The toaster oven, hot plate and microwave do the trick perfectly for everything else. As city people who can only see 16 stars on a good night - we are always awed but seeing the Milky Way every night. The property manager was instantly available for a small prob that we had and had with the BBQ and had it resolved in a flash. Can’t get better than that!
