Hotell nära Kane Memorial Dog Park

"I largely enjoyed my stay at the Heathman Lodge. It is a nice hotel with a bit of rustic character, unlike the dull and very formulaic chains. The room was comfortable and quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately breakfast was not available due to some renovation work but there was an IHOP only 10 minutes’ walk away. My only disappointment was a nasty little surprise when checking out. Having paid for the room in advance and not used any optional services I wasn’t expecting any incidentals, but I had been charged a $15 ”Facilities Fee”. I asked what this was and was told it covered things like the parking(!), the pool, the gym and a couple of other amenities. These, as well as being pretty standard at hotels at this price level, were all cited in the Expedia listing, and any of them could have formed the basis of my choice of this hotel (although not in my case as I didn’t make use of any of them). So I feel that these should be included in the room rate and can see no justification for levying a $15 surcharge which is not mentioned anywhere in the Expedia listing. While the amount is small, this ”hidden extra” feels arbitrary and, frankly, dishonest. "
