Ryokans i Kanto

“Hotel and service was amazing, insanely child friendly. Traveled with 18months and while this a luxury hotel and made us feel like royalty they also hade everything planned for our kid from baby yukata to baby bed at the kaiseki dinner.”

“Rooms are big and airy, and affordable even for a solo traveller like me. It means more towards a traditional feel than modern, and it's got everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and memorable. I just wish they'd be more open towards tattoos in their public bath, but there are tattoo tolerant onsen on walking distance. ”

“Wonderful location and excellent service! My one suggestion would be to offer larger sizes in the yukatas to be more inclusive. Also check the consistency - I asked for the largest size on the first day and it was perfect, the next day they changed it to a smaller size when the room was cleaned, and when I requested the largest size again it was much smaller. I thought it was mis-labeled, but the next one was a little bigger although not entirely comfortable. So they vary a lot in actual size.”

“Very friendly staff and exquisit food on top of that. First time visiting a ryokan and was not disappointed! Three private onsens that i could use and very foreign friendly overall. Highly recommend to visit if you want a taste of ryokan life on your trip and worry of your tattoes forsbid you from using the onsen - it is totally ok att this place!”

“Det här är en fantastisk Ryokan i en väldigt autentisk och trevlig miljö. De varma källorna är otroligt bra och personalen är trevlig och hjälpsam. Som andra noterat så är ljudet från vägen utanför ett störande moment, men det blir vitt brus till slut. Något andra recensioner inte pekat ut så mycket är att sängen är väldigt hård då det är en madrass ovanpå tatami-matta. Är du van vid en mjuk säng så kan detta vara en deal-breaker. Rummet i övrigt är stort och hotellet är väldigt vackert!...

“Fabulous stay. Clean, comfy, and within walking distance to the entirety of Kusatsu Onsen. The japanese breakfast was excellent. Relaxing indoors and outdoors onsen despite being in a town full of them. Bit of a language barrier for some of the staff but nothing that should surprise anyone who've travelled around Japan for a bit. Pick the yukata that catches your eye and be sure to stroll through town clad in it during the evening.”

“The greatest retreat from the hectic streets of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. After all those cities we came to this hotel in Minakami and never wanted to leave. We had the best time here. The people working at this hotel were always attentive and ready to help us with more than we could ask for and we hope to be back soon.”
