“They had no record of our reaction (that we had paid confirmation through hotels.com. They charged us cash to get a room. (Options in the area and time we arrived extremely limited). Had to try and negotiate an 11 check out at 9 suggested he wanted us out by 10 (place had no other guests). Very noisey all night”

“Trevlig personal. Lite för dyrt för att kännas prisvärt. ”

“Enkelt rum men med en fantastisk utsikt! Rent och fräscht i sin helhet men hade önskat att det fanns mer tvål på rummet. Vi hade säkert fått det om vi frågat efter det dock då personalen var mycket hjälpsam! En tvättlina hade inte heller varit fel :) man får bra träning när man tar sig upp och ner för backen också, det är nog en 20min från huvudvägen. ”

“Great stay! I tried the Sri Lankian breakfast - and it was FANTASTIC! Loved the hosts, they were very kind. Walking distance to town. Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. I really would like to recommend this place!”

“I wish I could like this place more but there were a few things which would make me reconsider booking if I had known upfront. Firstly, the driveway is a pain but can deal with it if known upfront, front desk was very accommodating taking our luggage up the hill to our van. Room 103 was a family room but directly above the reception and bar, so expect loud tuk tuks and music from the bar until about 11.30pm. Overall it was 3/5 - not bad, not amazing.”

“The view is supreme. The room is very clean and quite well-appointed for the class of hotel. The location is very near to town just up the way to its hilltop perch. A good walk or short tuk tuk ride . The staff were friendly and helpful and the WiFi was good. I had reason to contact the manager and he responded quickly to sort out my issue. I highly recommend Mountjoy Ella.”

“Very charming little guesthouse right in Ella town but not on the main street. Nice breakfast served on the balcony. Hot water ran out on our first night but not on the second. ”

“Buona struttura, ottimo host, molto disponibile e cortese. Colazione tipica. Facilmente raggiungibile a piedi (1km) dalla via principale di Ella.”

“Personnel familial tres gentil et serviable. J ai eu un petit souci du a une sangsue ramené lors d une sortie extérieure. Ils m ont mis de la crème désinfectante et cicatrisante. Une vraie bienveillance. Je recommande cet établissement”

“I was about to stay in Ella for 2 nights but this hotel has unfortunately made me to change my mind and I left earlier. There were long periods without electricity (where I saw neighboring buildings has it). Which also meant no internet. There were also no water in the shower. I told that to the two older gentlemen who work in the reception and they did something so that the water started to flow (cold), but without the possibility to turn in off now. A complete disaster. Not a single thought...

“ Nice pool, friendly staff, bra wifi”

“a lovely boutique hotel with amazing staff & good breakfast”

“Great hotel, great service. Other reviews mention good food but to me it was just okay. I got the cheapest room and it was perfect I can’t imagine how the other rooms are. Only negative is we didn’t have a mini fridge .”

“The price point is way too high for what you get. We thought this would be a nice place but is very basic. You can find the same standard and view to much better place. The bed was old, the shower pressure was almost non existing, dripping almost when you had hot water. ”

“Good location, just a block from busy Ella. Magical view overlooking the hills. Rooms are a bit older then the pictures shows. We had issues with geckos in the room. Food in the restaurant very under our expectations.”

“A very nice owner who made an amazing breakfast. The room was nice and clean and had a stunning view. Very close to Ella city center and various restaurants as well as Nine Arches Bridge. I would really recommend this place!”

“Svårt att hitta till hotellet då namnet Glen Rock Ella inte finns på några skyltar. ”
