“Very welcoming hosts and spotlessly clean room. Lovely breakfast too.”

“Clean and warm. Bed comfortable. Easy to access the accommodation. Room and bedding etc clean. Appreciated the decent size fridge. A good base to explore the area. NB we were glad to have taken advice from previous reviews and taken toiletries, as dispensers were empty, also took loo roll , own mugs and cutlery. A few minor repairs needed but it is end of holiday season and we had a good last minute price so we were happy with the accommodation.”

“Such a shame- could have been 5 star!! Internally the room was great, very comfortable and modern BUT from outside looked dreadful- dirty windows, dead window boxes and number missing from the door. Was very inconvenient, having to go out and buy tea & coffee ( I had asked before we travelled and was assured it was provided.) I draw the line at having to buy loo roll !! Attention to detail needed!”

“We had a wonderful 4 night stay at The Gables. Room was fabulous and host Angus so friendly and welcoming. Such a quiet property and bed so comfortable and warm. Bathroom facilities excellent. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and nothing was too much for Angus. Thank you we thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and staying at The Gables. Mike and Wendy”

“I loved this opportunity to stay in Ingram, at the East entrance to the Northumberland National Park. This B&B is luxurious, quiet and lovely, with great food and atmosphere. There is easy access to beautiful walks in and above the Breamish Valley. I would definitely stay here again.”

“Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman. The hosts went out of their way to find us...

“Stayed here a number of times. It's perfect for a quiet retreat with no distractions such as TV or phones. Owner tim is always on hand polite and helpful. Highly recommend the place.”

“Disappointing from start, exterior not welcoming and garden neglected. First time we used the shower the door fell off, reported it to the host who said it’s always doing it. Floor was wet through every time we had a shower. Asked for poached egg on toast for breakfast and were told she would do the eggs and we had to do the toast but no times given so eggs went cold while waiting for toast. Small pots of marmalade were not full or sealed. Second morning at breakfast, no milk on the table and...
