Thanks, Ana, yes, there was a wide swing of temperatures that day! The thermostat is wirelessly controlled remotely and we are glad to adjust it immediately upon guests' requests. Unfortunately, your text was sent at about 10:30 pm, so we did not get it until early the next morning, at which time we adjusted it immediately! We are sorry for the inconvenience. Hi, Andria, glad you had a great visit, but as far as location, though, compare: Kalama Oaks can't be beat! You can be on the I-5 in under 2 minutes, you can drive to the Longview Walmart or the McMenamin's Lodge in Kalama in under 9 minutes (no traffic lights to either!) You can be either at PDX or any of Mt. St. Helens' trailheads in under 40 minutes. Yes, the magnificent river view location is not suitable for walking into town.

Thanks, Samantha! Yes, we were having some issues with speed while we were upgrading our internet service that week. It is now complete and we now have full strength (5 bars) everywhere and consistently great speed (40 Mbps). My husband works from home with this service and it works great for all purposes.

A few clarifications: > Wifi is fast and fine for all internet uses; house policy only asks that you don't stream movies as cable TV is provided. > There are 125 channels on cable, about a dozen of them are exclusively sports. > There are traffic sounds miles away in the distance (grain elevators are about five miles away), but Kalama Oaks is in the middle of a heavy oak forest, an excellent retreat location!

Glad you had a great stay otherwise! Don't know why there was concern about the tub. The Kalama Oaks building and fixtures are upper-grade and new (less than a year old!), all built to modern specifications. Also, a tub friction mat was rolled up and ready under the bathroom sink.
