“We enjoyed our stay the house was clean and tidy, comfortable bed and nice secure yard for our fur baby.”

“Comfortable house with great facilities. Bedrooms are large and comfortable. Nice living areas. Location is excellent - short walk to almost everything. Only comment is that the backyard is mostly concrete so if you're travelling with dogs they may want to be allowed out the front from time to time. Not a problem though.”

“Bootmakers is cosy, warm and full of character - rustic, quirky, full of vintage curios and surprising discoveries. Owners have thought of everything guests could possibly need, including ample breakfast provisions and pantry staples. Located in the centre of the lovely little township - with gastropub and shops a short walk away, and a short drive from the wonderful Brae restaurant. Would love to go back when the weather is warmer to take better advantage of the large courtyard out the back...

“The photos on the Stayz site do not reflect the shabby state of this property. We stayed in winter and wanted an open fire place. The fireplace was dirty and filled with debris - not set to light as many other places we have stayed have been. There was no firewood inside so hubby had to cart it back and forth from the shed and no kindling or firelighters which we had to go and buy ourselves. Both sofas had dog hair all over them so I thought i'd vacuum them - the vacuum wasn't really working....

“We enjoyed the location and the modern house. However the shower down below didn’t drain properly, the septic tanks gave off a smell that lingered all weekend, the spa wasn’t that clean and no chlorine available to use. Didn’t wreck our weekend, but they need to be addressed.”

“Negative = House has no name 'Bertram' or number on it? Both rear doors had no keys? however staff rectified this promptly. Cars can be driven to rear of house and easily unloaded to upstairs kitchen and bedrooms. We understand its pet friendly but carpets were filthy and should be floorboards or tiles throughout (same as kitchen & dining areas) or carpets cleaned regularly. We were told further renovations/improvements are happening. House was very clean in and out but has a musty smell and...
