Blencathra - a bungalow that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

  • A superb semi-detached bungalow with wonderful views on an attractive site within a pleasant residential area on the edge of Keswick, between Fitz Park and the lower slopes of Latrigg. ‘Blencathra' is about a 10 minute easy stroll to Keswick's Market Square. The property has been tastefully decorated to provide fresh and immaculately clean accommodation for up to four guests.

    ‘Blencathra' has ample parking, full double glazing and gas central heating. All radiators can be individually thermostatically controlled. The bungalow is situated at the top of a small, quiet cul-de-sac. It has a westerly aspect and the fells from Coledale, across Whinlatter Forest to Barf and Skiddaw make a spectacular panorama to the front. At the rear of the property there is a spacious garden providing a peaceful, leafy green area in which to relax and enjoy views of Skiddaw and Latrigg. Red squirrels are charming, frequent visitors. Patio furniture is provided for the summer months so guests can make the most of the tranquillity.

    To the left of the front door is the comfortable lounge with outstanding westerly views. Furnished with a quality leather suite, television, DVD and living flame gas fire it is warm and cosy at any time of the year.

    The superb double glazed conservatory at the rear of the bungalow provides a quiet and peaceful additional space in which to relax.

    The kitchen/diner has very well equipped quality wooden units, an electric oven with a gas hob, extractor fan, washer/dryer, CD/radio and a larder fridge. The freezer is located in the garage which is also a useful area for drying wet clothes - and sorting out walking boots!

    There are two good sized bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds, both having quality mattresses and furniture plus beds dressed in luxury linen and towels. Please note that this property is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.

Excellent location close to Keswick centre and places of interest , very clean accommodation with a lovely large rear garden and conservatory, parking at the property we found good with space for a second car parked on the road outside if needed

Excellent location

This was our 3rd stay and have already booked for next year, that says it all. It’s warm and comfortable and in a great location . It’s very quiet yet within easy walking distance to the town centre.

Highly recommended

Situated in a very quiet culdesac at the edge of town Blencathra is a lovely,well equiped spacious property which was very clean.Off street parking is a bonus and its only a short walk to town centre or start of track to Skiddaw. Possibly the best property we have rented in Keswick and will make it our first choice for return visits Highly recommend it.

Lovely peaceful bungalow

The bungalow is well located with stunning views front and back and just 15 minutes walk into town. Very cosy and warm, there was ample hot water. The beds were very comfortable, with nice linen and a good supply of towels. There's a lovely garden to the rear of the property.

Great Bungalow

Lovely bungalow in a quiet area in walking distance of the centre of Keswick. Gorgeous garden and conservatory to sit and watch the birds and rabbits. Washing machine wasn’t working when we visited but there was a note apologising. Pictures inside are old fashioned, pictures of the view from the bungalow would be nicer! Would stop again.

Perfect cottage in great location

The cottage was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. The conservatory overlooking the wonderful large garden, with a view of Skiddaw was excellent. The addition of private parking and a very quiet cul de sac added to the overall quality. The location was perfect - an easy walk into town, with great hiking routes from the door and easy access to the traffic free cycle path. Perfect, and we look forward to returning soon.

Nice propety in a quiet location

We stayed here last year and booked to come back, and we hope to return next year, too. The property is less than a leisurely 10 minute walk from the town centre, in a pleasant and very quiet cul-de-sac, and we prefer this to the town centre properties we've stayed in before, which have had a less open aspect.

Lake District Holiday

We very much enjoyed our stay at Blencartha. Would say that for 2 adults it was fine but 4 adults might find it a bit of a squeeze especially eating in the kitchen. The location was very good with The Pheasant Pub within easy walking distance and the food served was good with large portions. The conservatory was a big plus. Yes, we would stay again.

The perfect location with stunning views

Blencathra is a spacious and comfortable bungalow in a lovely location. The views from most of the windows are spectacular. The quiet cul-de-sac position is perfect being peaceful and close to paths that take you up into the hills yet close enough to town to make a shopping trip a pleasure. We really enjoyed staying at Blencathra and will definitely return next time we visit Keswick.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL STAY

Blencathra is a home from home. Everything is provided, even when it rains most of the week! Superb location. Close to fells and town with main roads not too far off. Comfortable beds, which is essential after a day on the fells. We haven't found anywhere better.

Another great stay

This is our second stay here and we’re again very happy. Only issue was when the kettle broke but it was replaced within an hour of reporting it. Definitely using Keswick Cottages again. (Less rain next time please)

Gorgeous property highly recommend

We loved our stay here, yhe property was very comfortable, the garden was stunning and lovely garden furniture to sit out in the sun. Wild rabbits regularly came into the garden along with a woodpecker. If we come back to Keswick we would definitely stay back here. The cul de sac was really quiet and only a 10 min walk into town.

Perfect Getaway

Blencathra was wonderfully located a short walk to town, on a footpath alongside the road, as well as immediately across the street from hiking the fells. The conservatory was an incredible way to experience the ever-changing weather while enjoying the beautiful garden. We walked into town every day for lunch, and cooked dinner each evening at Blencathra, it had everything we needed! If only we weren't traveling from San Diego, we'd do this once a month!

A lovely property

A clean and welcoming house in a quiet cul-de-sac. It has a particularly nice conservatory with fell-top views, and a decent sized garden, but as we stayed here in the winter we (sadly) weren't able to make use of this. It's slightly further out from the town centre than properties we've stayed at before (about a 7-10 minute walk), but this has some advantages, too. We'll definitely look to book this property again the next time we stay in Keswick.

A quiet location, within reach of all amenities

We booked Blencathra at short notice after being told that the cottage we had booked to stay in (with a different company) had been sold. The bungalow suited us very well, being comfortably furnished and well equipped, and with its own off-street parking place. We particularly liked the conservatory and the garden, providing outdoor space to relax after our long walks, and we enjoyed watching the rabbits! The location is good, a very quiet residential area, with the shops, restaurant and buses of Keswick within walking distance. We will definitely book again for next year.

Great location

Blencathra is in the perfect location. Within easy walking distance from Keswick yet very quiet and with great views of the mountains. The bungalow was very clean, warm and comfortable with excellent facilities. The conservatory is a real bonus even in Winter. The only slight criticism I would have is that one or two hooks would have been useful and better labelling of the keys, but that’s very minor and would definitely not prevent us from booking again.

Good view of hills both front and back.

Blencathra is a nice bungalow situated on a quiet estate to the north east edge of Keswick. Close enough to venture into town and with good views out of the back and front of the many surrounding hills. Only gripe was that there was nowhere to hang your coat after coming in from a damp walk, we ended up using the back of the kitchen chairs. Other than that an excellent and comfortable property.
