Detta välkomnande, mysiga, moderna stuga intill ägarens hem är en idealisk semesterbase för par som utforskar det spektakulära norra sjödistriktet. Det ligger lugnt i den pittoreska byn Thornthwaite på sluttningarna av Winlatter Forest, som är känd för sina mountainbike spår och vackra skogspår. För angelägen fågelskådare kan en fiskgjutningsplattform ses från ägarens bakgård (efter överenskommelse). Fastigheten är omgiven av fantastiska landskap och ligger 3 miles väster om den populära köpstaden Keswick, där du hittar en mängd turistattraktioner och bekvämligheter. Det finns en bra busservice till både Keswick och Workington. Byn ligger 1 km från Bassenthwaite Lake, perfekt för vattensporter och fiske. Cykel lagring tillgänglig. Handla och restaurang 2 miles, pub 1 mil.

Great base to explore the Lakes.

Great base to explore the Lakes. Cottage was well equipped, warm and welcoming. We did have a problem with wi-fi but the hosts were friendly, helpful and quick to seek a solution. Also a lovely art gallery and coffee shop almost next door!

Plenty of space in the kitchen area with the benefit of full-size freezer and fridge and large microwave oven in addition to hob and fan-oven and dishwasher. The mattresses could do with replacing as they dip slightly in the middle. After the first night I slept well though. The furniture in the living room is dated, but still comfortable. The ceiling in the bedroom can be a bit of a hazard for tall people - so something to be aware of as it slopes down, but overall, we were very satisfied. We had a lovely stay, the place was exceptionally clean and it was a lovely home away from home for the week. I would recommend booking any restaurant bookings well in advance as almost everywhere was fully booked when we arrived. Really beautiful location - stunning scenery and there is a really lovely walk right by the apartment which gives you beautiful views. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We loved returning.

We loved returning. The cottage is so well equipped and well located for walks and adventures, one right from the door! My 9 year old loved it again and said it was sad to leave. The only thing he has said on the less positive side is he wish he could have got to ride the quad bike or been in the garden! Lovely people and will always return. Thanks Don!

The cottage was lovely and met our needs, my only criticism was that it got a little chilly in the mornings and Evenings as there is only a small window in the sitting room area it looked like there used to be a fire installed but had been removed. Owners might want to have the fire put back there was a little convector heater which we used. Other than that it was great Many Thanks
