Excellent séjour !

Parfait condo pour deux adultes et deux adolescents de 17 et 14 ans. Excellente communication pour tous les détails avant l'arrivée. Situé à deux minutes de la plage Kamaole 3, plage très agréable autant pour le snorkelling que la baignade. Condo très propre dans un site enchanteur. J'y retournerais sans hésiter.

Beautiful resort and location

This is the second time we've stayed at Kamaole Sands and thoroughly enjoyed the property and location. The unit is well stocked with kitchen items, cooler bags, ziplock bags, spices etc. Beach goers have chairs to choose from (we used the bigger upright ones that were quite hard to open and close, perhaps from sand or salt in the moving parts?), noodles, 1 adult life vest, couple pairs of flippers and at least one really good snorkel set, lots of great beach towels and big beach umbrellas. I would recommend that the room with twins beds be specifically advertised for kids only though since the beds squeak very loudly with each move you make during the night. We couldn't figure out how to pull out the sofa bed but it looked like it had a good inflatable mattress. We tried inflating the other mattress for the floor but the air pump wasn't functioning properly so it never blew up enough to use as a bed. Check in was easy even with our late arrival, staff are wonderful and maintenance works hard to keep the place beautiful. We loved our stay - thank you!

Our favorite at Kamaole Sands!

We come to Maui several times a year and Kamaole Sands is our favorite place to stay and this condo is our favorite condo at Kam Sands. Always clean and supplied with everything you need for a great vacation. We love the 2 bedrooms on one level.

Great place for a getaway!

This unit was clean, cozy and full of amenities! It was one of the nicest units in which I have stayed, and I have stayed at Kamaole Sands several times. The staff at check-in were cordial and helpful. I had absolutely no issues with this unit and will look for it again when I come back to Kihei!

Great trip

Second visit to Kamaole Sands and once again had a great time. Weather was great and enjoyed ourselves. If reading this review and are here on a Tuesday you have to get fish or pork tacos at Fred Mexican restaurant.

Great location and property

Great place for families. The property was clean and spacious. The beds aren’t comfortable for my own standards but that’s to be expected when sleeping elsewhere. There were extra beach towels/ sand toys/boogie boards and Umbrellas for use. The grounds were very beautiful and serene. The pool was warm especially for an evening swim. The beach was just across the street. There was also plenty of restaurants/ convince stores/ shops and plenty of shave ice places just a short walk away.

Perfect for relaxing vacation

Great setup for our family of four: loved the two bathrooms and the laundry in the the unit. Very well stocked kitchen with dishwasher which helped us cook the whole week we were there. Love that the beach is just a five minute walk away too! There's two umbrellas, boogie boards, and snorkel kits which saved us from having to rent everything. It was 90F+ the week we were there and the fans were super helpful in circulating the a/c from the living room. Only suggestion we'd have is maybe a collapsible drying rack for swimsuits and beach towels. Thank you for a great stay!

Good location, cheap on amenities

The condo itself is a good size and clean (except for the ants). The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of fans, and the a/c in the living room cools the place down nicely. The check-in process took forever - wish we could just use the code to get in the rental and have the parking pass inside without having to go jump through extra hoops. Someone was parked in our spot, so had to go back to the desk and report it, then wait for them to leave. We were allowed to park in visitor parking until they vacated the spot. Like other reviewers have stated, there are ants in the kitchen. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case, but ants were all over the counter when we were there - going to and from the ant traps. We kept our food in sealed containers in cabinets above the fridge, but I was still worried. We emptied the trash each day and wiped down the counters after prepping food. But it was gross to see ants there all the time. We had trouble with the door locking behind us. It was difficult to get a hold of the owner - had to route through a management company. Someone did finally answer and help us out. The toilet paper and paper towels are thin and cheap. Only 3 dishwasher tabs and laundry tabs. We bring our own anyway, but we've stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals over the years and this place is by far the the stingiest with amenities. No leftover condiments in the fridge, very little in the way of extras in a cabinet - be prepared to buy everything you need. As far as beach equipment goes - bring a cooler, a beach bag, and plan to rent snorkeling equipment. They have 1 kids set and 1 adult set that still didn't fit our teen. One umbrella was broken, but the 2nd one worked. The 4 beach chairs were nice though. All that to say, it is an excellent location. Quick walk to the beach, plenty of places to eat, plenty of other beaches a short drive away. We loved Maui, but would have liked an ant-free rental with a few more "comforts" that we have gotten used to from previous VRBO stays, and not having to deal with a check-in desk. And we prefer being able to contact the owner directly, not a management company.

Family Moon

Postponed family vacation that turned into my daughters “Family Moon”. Enjoyed the clean comfortable accommodations. Easy walk to the beach & close by food/beverages. Morning snorkeling before breakfasts & off site adventures. Lavender Farm, Maui Wine, Haleakala Sunset, Lahaina & Alchemy Maui, Iao Valley, Hana, and of course Maui Brewing we’re all things we enjoyed. Would definitely stay at Kamaole Sands again!!!

Great location and ammenities

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 3 teens. The location was a short drive/longish walk into town with great restaurants and shops. Across the street from one of many beaches. The complex had a nice pool, modest workout room, ping pong, tennis. We were well entertained and really enjoyed the outdoor space off of our unit. It was well equipped with beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach. I liked having a dedicated parking spot. My only negative were the small bugs that appeared as our stay went on. I knew this was a possibility based on previous reviews so we were very diligent about keeping food off the counters and the counters clean. But not a big deal at all. I would certainly stay here again!

Great place, but has ants

We really loved staying in this property. It had a wonderful location, pleasant and helpful staff, and was in great shape. One downside is that there was an ant infestation. There were a lot of ant traps in the unit, but they didn't seem to make a difference. We were unable to use the kitchen as a result of the infestation, but this was a pretty minor drawback since there was much deliciousness in nearby restaurants.

Good stay at Kamaole Sands

We’ve been renting units in Kamaole Sands for the past 5 years and have tried a new one everytime. We are two adults and two young children who travel extensively. This condo was okay…bathrooms are beautifully renovated and the entire space is large and nicely decorated. It’s incredibly noisy though. It looks out on to the pool and the windows aren’t great at blocking out noise. It was so loud it was impossible for us to get to sleep until quiet hours were enforced on the property each night. There was also a bug problem…the management team was amazingly quick to respond and help solve the ant issue but it persisted and was there when we arrived. We know bugs are part of Hawaii but I’ve never had this level of issue in any other property we’ve stayed in. The ants have been everywhere for our entire stay. I also found a cockroach on our first night. The kitchen utensils need upgrading as does the bedding. The pull out couch is super uncomfortable. We honestly still had a great stay as the overall property is amazing and who can stay unhappy in Hawaii, but just some things to be mindful of.

Perfect Location

This was a fabulous place to stay for easy access to Kihei and Wailea. A specific parking spot made coming and going simple. Perfect for four people. Twin beds felt lumpy and squeaked a lot, but not terrible. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you aren't too particular about mattress quality as everything else was great.

Great location

Great location in Kihei. Very short drive to most places in Kihei to buy necessities. There were some ants, but I am guessing that is to be expected in a tropical location. Having a washer/dryer in unit is a plus. Right across from the beach. Probably would recommend this unit for a family of 4 as the guest bedroom the beds are a little on the smaller side, but they will be perfect for kids. If you are staying with 4 adults, then consider using the pull out bed from the sofa instead.
