Good location

We had a stay here start of February with our family. Maui banyan is a great location and this building is very close to the road to the beach. The Maui banyan property doesn’t seem very welcoming to children. Very strict pool rules & some people staying weren’t happy about kids in the pool and were vocal about that. This unit needs some upgrades. We had some concerns that the company had to come and address during our stay and they are aware of other updates that need done and hopefully they will do them. They were very good to communicate with and quick to answer.

Maui Banyan is a great place to stay in Kihei. It’s right across the street from Kamaole Beach 2 and close to Fred’s/Moose McGillicudy’s restaurants and Cones of Kihei. Also, close to shopping, grocery stores and other restaurants. This unit we stayed in was not like the pictures shown. Everything in the unit was outdated, the beds were all terrible. I think the cookware came from Goodwill. We had to buy a frying pan to use for breakfast because all of their pots and pans were unusable. The tea kettle was awful. We purchased a new one from Walmart. The bathrooms were dimly lit. So dark. The floors were dirty and we cleaned them before we did anything. The a’c units were so loud and old. You cousins sit on the lanai and enjoy the scenery. The one in the living room barely worked. The property management company did check in with us and we told them our concerns. They couldn’t refund the cleaning fee so we told them to give us more swifter wipes and we would clean them. They said they would drop some by but they never showed up with them. They asked us what they could do to make it better and I said move us to better accommodations and all they had was Maui Vista which is too far away. We chose Maui Banyan due to the close proximity to everything we liked to do. We stayed in the unit for two weeks. I will be more careful to read the reviews of the next unit we rent prior to booking. Yes, you don’t stay in the rooms all the time but good, nice beds makes sleeping more enjoyable.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Old, dilapidated rooms. Bed duvet had holes in it, master bed is very uncomfortable, as are the pillows and chairs and A/C did not work well. The counter around the kitchen sink is disintegrating from poor maintenance. The lighting is poor and all the kitchen ware is terrible. They eventually did bring extra fans to help with the temperature in the master, but those fans did almost nothing. No wifi and no response when I asked about the wifi. No help when checking in when we got there around 9:30pm. Instructional email was ambiguous, especially about parking. We got a ticket for parking in a spot in the "property lot". The email states that "parking is unassigned". When I went to ask about the ticket, I was aggressively confronted by a man named Bill Richardson, whom I found out later is the manager over the whole AOAO property. When I brought up the instructions given to me, he said he'd, "have me towed next time. Told me to go back to the mainland, that this was his island, born and raised. He threatened me and my family and said to watch my back and that this was his town, his island. Kept yelling out the f word and to watch my back". I returned the favor. This man should be fired and never work in guest services. He puffed up his chest and said to come find out what would happen to me if I stepped up to him. The absolute most unprofessional service I've ever experienced. Do not stay here. Location is okay, and you save a

Our stay was pleasant and the location was great. We were disappointed in the state of the condo but were forewarned the unit was not updated. The curtains were very dirty which could be seen from the lanai. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked but alot of the appliances were old, especially the pots and pans.
