“Was a nice enough stay, cute little rooms off in a separate building, information said was soundproof but the windows/door was to outside so a little thin and let light in - and as it was a gravel area outside people walking/cars parking was quite noisy. “This is a wonderful example of historic English buildings that have been updated for modern stays without losing their architectural quirks and historical oddities. Not ideal for people with limited mobility, but we enjoyed ducking under low lintels and walking over uneven floors, some of which have been around for several centuries. “The location was easy to find using satnav and the access is very easy. There is ample parking in a quiet location. An unusual feature is that all rhe rooms are purpose built modern units detached from the much older public house part which also houses the restaurant. There is also a beer garden area with some shade. The benefit of this layout is that there are no staircases or lifts to navigate to get to your room. My room was exceptionally large, and my first impression was how cool it felt...

“The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update. Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell. Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area. Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content. Suggest read the available reviews and make you own decision.”
