“My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

For us Elisabeth arranged our guide Christmas who took us to the waterfall and learned us a lot of birding in Uganda. He also took care of the last minute permits for the gorilla tracking. Morning boat trip to Nyombe swamp was fabulous - great to set off in mist and see sun rising then clear- good birds to see in swamp area Food good and service excellent Intermittent electricity in room bit frustrating and need to run shower for 10 minutes before any hot water. “The site is superb with a wondeful view of the lake and beutiful hills. The manager was most friendly and helpful as were the rest of the stff. We had a two roomed spacious cottage which was clean , well furnished and with comfortable beds. It had a huge verandah overlooking the lake. The food was good but not otstanding and the bar was modestly stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay until the very end when the office was not able to produce a machine that would accept either Mmastercard or...
