The good points: the staff are fantastic, so helpful and friendly even when we turned up at 2am after our flight was delayed. The rooms are big and clean (and didn't see a single mosquito). Air con worked well. Netflix on the tv. Pool was clean. The best bit was being right on the beach. The boys loved playing football and splashing around. It's out of the city centre so very quiet and peaceful and it was great to get away from the insane...
âLa Villa Aphro was our home away from home. The tucked away boutique resort felt like our own personal Air B and B. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a delightful welcome native drink that I wanted to drink the entire trip. My. Husband arrived with an upset stomach from our united airlines flight from IAD. Staff immediately jump to action showed to our room and made him two drinks. A special ginger drink the bartender put together and seltzer. My husband slept and was felling back to his self...

Upon arrival, the room wasnât well cleaned, same for the bathroom.
There were mosquitoes in the room as well. The pool a dirty, looks like the water hadnât been changed in a long time.
We suffered power outages at least 4 times and we had to just go out rather than stay in the heat. The annoying thing is, there was no communication whatsoever from the staff or hotel management. We had to pester them...
âNice place to lodge when in Accra. Very helpful, honest and kind staff. I misplaced my lithium batteries and the manager helped me to find them. It was such a relief. I highly recommend this place to anyone who just landed in Ghana and looking for a place to spend the night .â

The food was very tasty and nutritious.
The traditional dance performances close by and the band playing danceable music on the beach were exhilarating. I also loved the Saturday morning childrenâs dance classes in the dance studio on the main floor.

âI went mid week and had a pleasant stay while it is quiet. The hotel is in pretty good condition, when I arrived they were even installing new TVs. It is clean and well maintained, a very good standard for a 3star hotel in Ghana. The food at the beach restaurant was my favourite, try the calamari and fried rice, very tasty. Also nice to have breakfast, hotels.com didnt let me know it was included it was also good. Staff very helpful even though it is quiet during the weekâ

The hotel pool is large and nice! plenty of sunbeds and a nice bar.

âIt was very nice, the room was quite clean, and I didn't encounter any issues. It's a bit annoying that the air conditioners stop working as soon as you leave the room. The breakfast is a bit lacking, there's no buffet, you get a tray with food to the room. The 'dining room' was under renovation while I was there, and the pool, when I first arrived, had green water. But on the third day, they cleaned it and made it clean again.â
