Sunset Kahili Condo
Please check bedroom window. Rained all night in Kauai. Even with windows all closed, the curtains and floor was wet. Rug wet. Water started to go under bed.

Hi Christine, The islands have been hit by strong Kona storms from the south over last week. These are more unusual, but they can result in some leakage through the jalousie type windows common in Hawaii. Sorry and thanks for the heads up. - Randy

Great place near Poipu Beach
This location was amazing. It’s within easy walking distance of Poipu Beach. We walked to the beach frequently to watch the sunset and even went back later on the night to watch the turtles come up to shore for the night! The bed was comfortable and could be separated from the family room by a sliding screen. The unit was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and the beach including a couple of snorkel masks and fins, shoes for water and boogie boards, to name a few. Had a great time here.

Excellent property!
We were very happy during our entire stay at this condo. It was super clean, very well stocked with all the essentials that you might need like beach towels, equipment, toiletries - and the kitchen had all the stuff you might need if you are wanting to cook, including a few spices. We really enjoyed our too-short stay and would definitely consider returning to this exact location again. Also, owner was super responsive and easy to deal with!

We did not end up staying at this property due to a bug problem. The property was overrun with fruit flys to the point we could not stand being there and went to stay at another property in the area. Owner has so far not provided any relief on the funds we paid in advance. Apart from this issue, the property was well located and decently appointed and comfortable.

Love Sunset Kahili
Randy has made many nice improvements in this property! Sunset Kahili is such a lovely place to stay in Poipu! Randy has nice accommodations and extras (chairs, beach towels, boogie boards) for his guests. He is the best to work with. Just had a bit of a noise issue with some workmen that got cleared up and the screen needs a fix to keep out the gnats, etc.

Great stay
The condo was very nice and lots of extras. Randy was very easy to work with - great communicaton, very accomodating and helpful. Answered messages very quickly. Resident manager was very helpful too. Lots of permanent residents that are very friendly.

Very Convenient
Easy to find and just a short walk to Poitou beach. Had plenty of amenities and cookware. Clean and tidy. Our only complaint would be that the mattress was well past its expiration date with noticeable impressions on each side.

Great home base for Kauai Vacation
The condo was comfortable and very walkable to the beach a several restaurants for dinner. It was also a great home base location for getting out a exploring on hikes and boat trips. We loved it!

Older condo- good location
Pros: Great location close to several beaches Nice furniture in condo/comfy bed Well-stocked with beach items Cons: Condo is older- shows signs of wear. Bathtub is older and peeling. Fridge has rust on the side of it. No ice maker in freezer- just 2 ice cube trays and several ice packs for the cooler. No A/C- only ceiling fans and 1 portable fan. The coffee pot was completely rusted out on the bottom. The clothes washer had a bad smell which made laundry smell bad after washing. No security lock was installed when we arrived. When I asked for one, I was told it had been broken by previous tenants and hadn’t been replaced yet but not to worry because it’s a low crime area. The property manager finally replaced it once I insisted. Owner wanted the key to be left in the lockbox on the outside of the door throughout the entire stay “in case housekeeping needed in”. This condo building is very quiet- like a retirement community. The balconies all overlook the pool so everyone can see everyone else at all times and if you are talking, the sound bounces off the pool so everyone can hear your entire conversations.

Thank you for your comments Crystal. The oceanfront environment certainly takes it's toll on appliances. It's a continual process to stay ahead of the rust. In fact a new refrigerator that we had on order was delivered just following your visit unfortunately. Good tip on the coffee maker. Regarding lockboxes, it's common practice to replace the key after first use in the event of emergency access or unscheduled housekeeping requests.

Beach Friendly
Owner provides beach necessities....chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, coolers, ice packs, towels. Quick walk to beaches. Well-appointed kitchen and washer/dryer. No AC, but overhead fans kept unit comfortable. Building structure is L shaped with lenai facing pool, so neighbors' voices carry. Quiet hours begin at 10pm. Maybe not the best place to bring children or your loud cousin. Owner was upfront about these details. We loved our stay and highly recommend!

Perfect location
Loved the location! Ocean view and walking distance to PoiPu. This worked well for our family. The pull out bed is a getting a little old, so I don't know that an adult or older kid would find it comfortable, but it worked for our two kids (7 and 10). The primary bed was very comfortable. Host was responsive and the property manager helped us with anything we needed. This is a building with a low-key atmosphere, so it might not be as suitable for a rowdy bunch.
