Wonderful home /location

We spent a week here for my 50th birthday and had a fabulous time. The rooms were all bigger than expected and have private entrances to the front and back. The long covered patio was perfect for hanging out and the view . . . . we literally struggled to leave the house because we couldn't get enough of it. We drank our coffee in the jacuzzi in the morning, watching the sea turtles bobbing in the water. Every sunset was more beautiful than the next. We even got to see a whale our first night! The home is walking distance to many shops and 2 beaches. It's an easy drive to many other attractions. The kitchen is pretty small but functional. We all love cooking and it didn't bother us much. There are no spices or condiments left for safety reason so plan accordingly. There are chickens everywhere in Hawaii and a couple did make it into the backyard and pooped all over but that is not the properties fault. Check- in was super easy and they even got us in a little early. I would highly recommend this house for your vacation. You won't be disappointed. I would definitely return.

Oceanside cottage

Mattress quality was low grade considering the cost of this home, master shower door wouldn’t close without extreme force and lifting , back door wouldn’t stay shut with out jimming and lifting, master bedroom a/c could not keep up so we purchased a fan, tv in our bedroom wouldn’t shut off. Fitness facility ended up being good but felt online was implied right next door which it’s not. Pool and fitness facility is 2+ miles away which made it difficult for kids and transport. All minor fixes. Overall house was awesome. Just figured for the price, these things should be intact

Perfection in Kauai

The location of this property is perfection. Directly on the ocean! Very close to restaurants (don't miss Merriman's, The Beach House, Da Crack Mexican Grinds, Living Foods) and a small upscale shopping area. Our favorite beach for swimming nearby is Shipwreck Beach, which is a quick drive with easy parking. The property even has beach chairs and umbrellas you can use. The property was spotless, beautiful, and very comfortable. Check in was seamless, and they had the property ready for us early when our plans changed. Communication with the property manager was easy via text, and the best we've ever experienced with a VRBO. A couple of little things needed addressing (ice maker, bbq grill) and both were fixed immediately. Oh, and I didn't notice in the listing that there was a hot tub. Many hours spent here watching the waves and sea turtles. Perfection!

As Close to the Ocean as You Can Be!

My husband, sisters and mother stayed here for 5 days and loved every one of them. We were so happy on the porch, watching the waves and the sea turtles. The house is well set up, with a small kitchen and large living room located between three luxurious bedroom suites. The location is excellent; close to Poipu, Spouting Horn and Koloa Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Perfect Vacation Spot

The location of the property was great with easy access to activities, beaches, hiking trails, and restaurants. The view was fabulous. This is a perfect rental for a family vacation.

VIEW & LOCATION!

The view & location was amazing! Spouting Horn area is great! Near Allerton Garden, food & shops. The back porch/backyard/ocean view was well worth it! I could have lived out there. So fun to watch the green sea turtles too. However, the bed was hard, pillows were thick and no black out blinds, so sleep was not good at all & up super early. My husband and I didn't need 3 bedrooms, but we wanted a house on the beach and almost everything was booked up. Was hoping the bathrooms were newer/nicer, like they looked like in the pictures, but other than the sleeping and the showers.. the back porch made up for most of it. Bed comfort & bathrooms are a big thing for me.

Heavenly Poipu Home

My family and I loved every moment of our stay in this beautiful home. The sunset views, turtle sightings, and gentle tropical breezes made this a memorable stay. The house is roomy with many places to find a quiet spot alone or to gather in groups. The bedroom suites are divine and we loved having our own bathrooms and doors out to the gorgeous lanai. The pictures just don’t do this home justice!

Absolute Paradise!

This property was fantastic. The pictures and write up did not do this peace of heaven any justice. The house was roomy, comfortable (including beds, linens, towels, furniture), and clean. Everyone had their own space. We loved the back yard- watching the ocean, seeing dolphins, sea turtles, birds, roosters, spouting horn, sunsets, rainbows, etc! The location was perfect. Some businesses/restaurants were still closed/limited hours due to covid but we had great take out on the back patio. We appreciated all the amenities-beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and access to the athletic club. Jessica (at the property management office) answered my endless questions for months prior to our arrival (things kept changing with covid) and during our stay. It really doesn't get any better than this property. I would absolutely return to this property in the future!!

Breathtaking view from the cottage

A breathtaking location on the water! You can't beat watching amazing sunsets and sunrises from your porch or hearing the waves at night while sleeping. The harbor beach around the corner is quiet and calm to visit. There are turtles that hang out (we were here in winter) at the edge of the lava rock. I wish there was a ladder on the other side of the wall to get down and explore the tide pools, but the wall is very high and dangerous to get down. The couch was missing some back pillows and that made it very hard to relax in the living room. For seniors, a deep set couch is not ideal. We had to grab pillows from our bedrooms for support. The beds were also very firm. Checking in could have been more streamlined. The management company did not communicate on the app at all. I had to find the phone number online, day of and hours before check in to call to get instructions. They did make up for it though by providing a late checkout and was very pleasant to work with when we did connect. It could just be a result of the pandemic, as we traveled right after things opened up.

Beautiful View

The house has amazing views from each of the bedrooms! There were 3 couples and each room had king beds and private baths. As others have said the kitchen was small but efficient enough to cook meals! We would give this property 5 stars if it weren’t for the couch in the LR! This couch was EXTREMELY uncomfortable for all of us. The cushions barely had enough filing inside them to even resemble a couch. There were only two back pillow in the same condition! We all felt we’d better better off on the floor then sitting ion this couch....we would STRONGLY recommend replacing it as this is a spot that we would return to if it had a new couch!! FB/JH

Great location

Beautiful house in a stunning location. The three huge bedrooms with large full bathrooms attached to each room made for a very comfortable stay and provided plenty of quiet spots in the house to nestle into. Location was beautiful and close to all the beaches and shopping areas of Poipu and Koloa. Access to the Poipu Athletic Club was a huge plus for anyone with small kids or anyone looking to workout or play tennis. The kitchen is a bit on the small side for those who plan to do a lot of cooking (which we did). And there is no large dining table inside which made dining together a bit cramped around the outside table. The other thing worth noting is that one of the bedrooms is a pass through to the other bedroom (unless you access it through the outside porch door which is easily accessible). Overall, a fabulous place to stay next to the crashing waves.

Great spot in Kauai

There are not many places directly on the water in Kauai. Many are across a road in front of the water. This place we great and very relaxing for our 8 days there staring at the water, the waves and the stars.

A great vacation spot!

We loved our stay at the ocean front cottage on Lawai Rd. Michael and Alison from Alekona Kauai (the rental agency) were terrific, and responded to any concerns immediately. A special shout out to their handyman, Mark, who cheerfully brought us a new propane tank for the outdoor BBQ in less than 5 minutes after receiving our call, saving our outdoor dinner. As for the property itself, it is absolutely beautiful!!! We saw turtles swimming in the surf every day. The interior is tastefully decorated, the beds are nice, as are the towels and linens. We would give it 5 stars if the cottage had air conditioning. To be fair: we visited in August, and the high temperature was 90 degrees, with some humidity. It was fine if you left the front and back doors open to let the trade winds blow through. But, this wasn't a viable option at night, because we'd be letting mosquitos (although there aren't too many in the area) fly in. We had to sleep on top of the sheets a few times. My recommendation would be that the owners install new, higher-power ceiling fans (the existing ones BARELY move the air, even on the highest setting), and that they also provide additional window fans. Overall, though, we would highly recommend this property. It's a terrific option for 3 couples (as opposed to three hotel rooms), and the full kitchen allows you to save a ton of money by BBQing and enjoying cocktails from the absolutely stunning backyard. We literally laughed out loud when we walked in, because it was SO beautiful!! P.S. After talking to other locals, we learned that there aren't many private homes with air conditioning on the island. And to be fair - it wouldn't have been an issue if the temperature was closer to 80 degrees.

Great house with lots of space.

The house was great and we had a nice time on the island. The kitchen was lacking in staples, such as salt, pepper, olive oil (in all the vrbo rentals I’ve stayed in, there are always staples left from previous tenants, but in this house, everything is completely cleaned out.). There’s no swimming, snorkeling in the water in front of the house (pretty rough), and no sand (just lava rock), but the yard is lovely. The rooms are large and very comfortable with everything nicely appointed. The house is layed out perfectly for large groups and families.

Beautiful rustic oceanfront home!!

We had a wonderful stay with our family of 6 and wished we could have stayed another few days at least! This home is roomy and homey and you can't beat the location. The coastline off the backyard is rocky but there are some nice beaches nearby. Keep in mind this side of the island has lots of volcanic rock at the coastline. The waves can be intense at times with strong currents. There are many nice eating places in this area and we were glad we had a car to travel around the Island. We had a couple problems at the beginning of our stay but Michael was responsive and things were handled fairly quickly. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kauai.

Gorgeous view and location but shabby around the edges for the price

We came here for a family trip with my parents and two young children. The house is absolutely gorgeous and well laid-out for multiple families. There are three master bedroom suites with huge bathrooms and reading nooks big enough for someone to sleep in. The house could easily sleep 10. You can’t beat the oceanfront view and the decor is elegant and stylish. You felt like you were on a boat when looking outside. Even though it rained a lot during our stay, we enjoyed hanging out inside and on the lanai when the weather was bad. We also loved using the membership at the athletic club, which was included with the price.Great bonus for kids. Kids loved the water slide and adults loved the classes. Cons: for the high price, we expected a better equipped kitchen and a better maintained property. We often ran out of essential supplies (I.e., paper towels and soap) and several lightbulbs were out when we arrived. When we did contact the management, however, they were responsive and professional. Overall, it was an excellent stay and would recommend the property for other big groups. The house is especially great for young kids— you can easily fit a crib in the massive bathrooms and everything is one level. Its expensive but we enjoyed our stay.

Slice of Paradise

Spent 4 days here and really loved it. Each bedroom is set up perfectly, waking and sleeping to the view and sound of the great Pacific Ocean is remarkable. Kitchen and living area is well appointed and the back porch and yard are so private and relaxing. Great spot for viewing turtles in the surf and spouting/breaching whales off shore. Go, stay, enjoy.

Beautiful home in a beautifull location!!

This home is amazing. 3 master suites with their own front doors and back doors opening up the the deck. Well stocked kitchen minus seasonings but that's ok, we bought our own and left them there. Pretty sure that's how it works anyway. Very comfortable and lots of seating all over. It was so amazing to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing and wake up to amazing sun rises over the ocean. We never wanted to leave the house!! We stayed here with 2 other couples (no kids) and had a fabulous time. There is plenty of space for privacy and also for socializing. The house offered plenty of beach towels, 2 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas and a mid sized ice chest which were great for beach days. There wasn't anything that we needed or wanted that the house didn't offer. This is a true gem!! Management company is also great and super friendly and easy to communicate with. Alison met us when we arrived and was available anytime we had a question.

Great ocean view, location, space

We really enjoyed our stay here. This was a quieter neighborhood, s little east of Sporting Horn. We had three couples, and everyone enjoyed the spacious bedrooms with king size beds and private bathrooms. The house could use some updating, but was clean. We made good use of the kitchen, which was decently stocked. We enjoyed the back yard, watching sunrise and sunsets, stargazing, barbecuing , and dining outside. The lanai had comfortable chairs. There was enough parking on the lawn for two cars. The living area and tv were good as well. We made use of the spare bathroom - it had a good shower. We liked that the units all had stackable washer/dryers. We were able to use a couple different entrances. Note that two of the bedrooms are on one side of the kitchen/living room unit next to each other, the third is on the other side. Note this is not a swimming beach. It was rocky and rough like a lot of the Kauai coastline. We found other beaches to visit. Michael was very nice and took good care of us when we needed some items. He was very responsive.
