Hale Kolea - Perfect Cottage for Two near Baby Beach!

This recently renovated cottage is inspired by the old Hawaiian plantation style era but with all the modern amenities one could ask for! The surrounding neighborhood is a unique and highly desirable location, within walking distance to restaurants and shops, steps to the family friendly Baby Beach, snorkeling and surf breaks. There is a large wrap around lanai with ocean views to enjoy morning coffee or happy hour drinks or just relaxing with a good book.

At night the lanai has LED lighting enhances your outdoor enjoyment. Inside, the large living room, dining area and kitchen have been updated with wood floors, new appliances, plantation shutters and comfortable stylish furniture. A collection of contemporary art and Hawaiian textiles grace the walls and there is a large flat screen, smart TV. The two bedrooms, each with a king bed, have high quality organic cotton linens and plenty of storage.

There is an additional shower outdoors to wash off sandy toes and salty skin. On the side yard there is a large patio with a gas barbeque, outdoor dining area and umbrellas to enjoy the ocean view. At night the patio is romantically lit with over head string lights. The cottage is air-conditioned and solar-powered.

This property includes beach chairs, beach towels, a cooler and umbrella. Please feel free to call us if any of these items are missing during your stay.

Wonderful Beach Cottage

We usually rent a small house right by Poipu beach, but because we booked later than normal this year, we stayed at this 2 bedroom beach cottage by Baby Beach. The home was beautiful. It was well designed, wonderfully furnished, and the owner really nailed it with all of the extra little touches. The property is also just a short walk to great shopping and restaurants.

This was a slice of heaven!

The house was MORE than we could have expected! Having the owners next door was fantastic, they were kind, thoughtful and respectful of our time. This was our first visit to Kaua’i and so far the most beautiful island. The proximity to the ocean was perfect. We could hear the waves at night. The street was very quiet, and the beaches were gorgeous, if we didn’t care about seeing the rest of the island we could have just stayed and walked to the beach every day. It was literally a slice of heaven.

Wonderful vacation

The cottage could not have been more perfect. It is beautiful, clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and had everything we needed to make our holiday great. The owners live next door and they were so kind. They gave us excellent tips about places to visit and they are very knowledgeable about the island and the history and culture there. Adorable Cottage with a great location

This house was a perfect home base for our hiking adventures around Waimea Canyon. It had everything we needed including a great lanai to relax on and was close to restaurants and shops. The owners live next door and were so kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cottage in a perfect location.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful cottage near baby beach. The home is located on a quiet street close to baby beach. The snorkeling across the street was fantastic. I ran in to several sea turtles while snorkeling only 50ft from the shore. The hosts were very welcoming and warm. My wife appreciated the lei she was given to her on our anniversary. The views of the sunset across the street were gorgeous. The house itself has everything you would need for the beach including, chairs, boogie boards and fins. The kitchen was well stocked with great pots and pans. I also enjoyed having a grill to cook our fresh fish on. I would recommend this house to anyone.

This place is paradise!

Alex and Ronan have gone out of their way to make this home everything we needed. From the location a block from the beach, snorkeling right across the street, lovely seating and lounging inside and out, beach chairs and toys, and an abundance of small touches that made this place perfect. They had the house smelling of fresh cut flowers, and the fans and air-conditioning were on when we arrived. It was laid out beautifully and we will stay here anytime we are on Kauai!

Excellent Location and Hospitality

The location was great. Sites and sounds from the ocean just across a quiet residential street; morning coffee on the large lanai was delightful. The house is in walking distance to three snorkel spots, and a place where turtles come to rest for the night; Multiple dining and shopping options within a short drive or walk, even a stand to get cold fresh coconuts. Don’t miss the yummy food at the food trucks and the fish market in nearby Oldtown Koloa, or a drink/snack at Brenneke’s overlooking Poipu Beach Park. Even though the rental is managed by a company (the official contact), the owners who live next door are super nice people who went out of their way to take care of our needs and answer our questions while we were there. For example, when we inquired about the availability of a rice cooker, they went out and bought us one! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be recommending this rental to friends and family, and to you :) Aloha

Paradise Found

We left a piece of our hearts in Kauai at this absolutely perfect cottage nestled in paradise. Every detail was provided at the highest level but our favorite moments came as we communed with the amazing owners and discovered the beautiful beaches. It was a perfect landing spot as we explored the island and we hosted several memorable dinner parties with friends. The sea turtle landing at the end of the street was a magical spot and we will never forget the locals playing their ukeleles at Aloha Craft Cafe! It was truly a perfect 10 vacation and we hope to return again. Mahalo!!!

A perfect guest house in a perfect place!

I think all the VRBO hosts got together and made a list of how to prepare a perfect guest house and awarded that list to Hale Kolea in Kauai!!! The hosts, who live next door, greeted us warmly with an offer to assist at any time. The house has curb appeal and is wonderfully designed with decor that matches the calm feel of Hawaii. It is well stocked with anything you could ask for and more, like beach towels, chairs and boogie boards. But it is the small, well-thought through details that made all the difference--a welcome note on arrival, a cozy blanket on the couch, amenities for the shower, bedside outlets for charging phones, a guidebook with dog-eared pages for nearby sights. I don't know if they did that last one on purpose, but can it be coincidental that everything I searched for was already marked? The recliners on the lanai had over-sized towels already spread out on them as if they were calling out "be comfortable, sit here." The location is great on a quiet street. You can walk to both Baby Beach and the Beach House restaurant. It's a short drive to Spouting Horn and Poipu Beach, which has plenty of parking. There's a shopping and restaurant complex nearby that is very convenient with clothing stores and a Longs Drugstore. (I recommend Merriman's and Roy's1849 Eating House, but avoid the Savage Shrimp restaurant.) Our 3-night stay went by too quickly. Kudos to the hosts for creating such a special place in such a special place! Mahalo!

We stayed that this beautifully remodeled cottage just a few houses down from Baby Beach in Poipu for a week. It’s quaint and tastefully decorated. The comfortable outside living areas added to the feeling of really being in the real Kauai, not like some resorts we’ve visited in the past. It’s in the street right behind the oceanfront houses with some sweet peekaboo views and constant lull of the tide. The A/C worked well and the washer dryer too. The cable T/V let us watch the local news which I always like to do when traveling. Stay here. You won’t be disappointed!

Gem in poipu!

We had a fabulous stay at Alex and Ronan’s wonderful home. The location is excellent, a stone’s throw from some excellent snorkelling (including turtles), baby beach, and beautiful sunsets at lawai beach. There are lots of excellent bars, restaurants and shops within a short walk or drive, yet the area is very quiet and peaceful. The house itself is wonderful, beautifully renovated and presented with all you need, lovely personal touches, very comfortable beds, and great outside spaces. The hosts are the nicest people, and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you both again, we had the holiday of a lifetime. Chris & Alicia

Beautiful property

The property was one of our all time favorites. The owners definitely used quality throughout, from the kitchen having everything you need, to beautiful artwork. Great location to walk to snorkeling or just taking in a sunset. The owners were staying next door, asked if we needed anything, and offered to help my husband look for an apt as he needed to stay a little longer. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful home and location

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Alex and Ronan’s home. It was thoughtfully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, and had everything we need to feel at home. We really enjoyed having our meals on the spacious front porch with the sound of the ocean in the background. The only things that could’ve made our stay absolutely perfect would be a better quality kitchen knife and goggles included with the snorkeling gear. That being said, Alex and Ronan are right next door and probably would’ve provided these things had we asked. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect home away from home.

Everything was perfect! The house is exactly as described in the write-up. The Lanai was our favorite spot to spend most of the time we were there. We went to Kauai to relax and that's exactly what we did. The house is at a walking distance to the Beach House, to Kukui'ula Shopping Center, to a special snorkeling spot and the baby beach. The house is well stocked, super clean, and beautifully decorated. We loved everything and every moment of our stay. Mahalo & Aloha

Beauty and the beach

What an amazing place to stay ! So close to the ocean and to everything we needed for our week long vacation . We were married right on the baby beach with it literally all to ourselves. The cottage had a great kitchen and a great lanai area for relaxing and watching the sun go down or come up !! Would recommend it to anyone who wants a home away from home feel right on the ocean !

Magnificent vacation home

We have stayed at many vacation homes and this home was by far the best we have experienced. The home has been decorated so beautifully inside and outside. The location was also ideal as it's by the ocean and close to so many good restaurants and shopping. Also, any questions we had were addressed promptly. We give this home a 5 star!!!
