“Our family of 4 stayed for 4 nights in December. There were many great parts of our stay in this villa. Hans was a great and attentive host who lives next door and checked in frequently. We always felt very safe and secure in the villa, which was quite clean. For future guests, we’d like to offer some clarifications based on our experience:1) Bedroom temperature: This was the biggest challenge for us. For our family and at this time of the year, the heat was too much. We all struggled to...

Jumeirah Beach Front Apartments

8/10 Bra

"Very luxurious hotel right by the beach. Clean and well-maintained and service-minded staff. However, it is hard to say if we would recommend it or not. Depends on who you are. It hosts some kind of social club for the local well-off people and has a muslim approach. This means there was loud music from the afternoon until around midnight every day. Our room with direct ocean view was not disturbed by this, however. One more thing that disturbed us was that no alcohol was served in the hotel - we like to have a beer or glass of wine with our dinner. Breakfast was ordered to the room on weekdays and was then quite ok but served as a buffet on the weekend and was quite poor in our opinion - unless you are Kenyan and like local style breakfast. So for us, a middle-aged Swedish couple, we had a feeling of not really fitting in here, but if you are younger and muslim or Kenyan, I would assume this is a great hotel for you."

Hotel Sapphire

10/10 Fantastiskt

"We were greeted and offered refreshments and seating, as soon as we arrived, while much of the 'chores' of checking in were performed for us by the kind and attentive staff members. This set the tone for our two-night stay, while visiting Mombasa. We were asked repeatedly how our stay was, given tips, and felt listened to. We enjoyed the extensive and diverse breakfast buffet each day, with absolutely commendable, attentive and FRIENDLY(!) professionals serving us and attending to our wishes. The only negatives regarding food sere the first night's dinner buffet (bland and not very extensive or varied) and the room service dinner the next night, which seemed to provoke a day of diarrhea. (I suspect the hygiene was not if the same meticulous standard demonstrated in the restaurant, when the dishes, cutlery and food were )."

Voyager Beach Resort

10/10 Fantastiskt

"We stayed 3 nights at Voyager and we loved it. We have traveled quite a lot in Africa and this hotel was the best one yet. The room was clean and newly renovated. No bugs. Staff was very helpful. A special thanks to Shadarak who even helped us book our traintickets when our MPesa did not work. Food was delicious. We had the all inclusive package, which included breakfast, lunch, dinner, free drinks and at any time you can order things from the snackbar. Beach is beautiful, with incredible white sand. But keep in mind there is also corals and rockbed that can be sharp. It might be a good idea to use bathing shoes if you want to cross the rocks during low tide. Those are also sold in the hotel gift shop. The hotel was a bit difficult to reach via the hotels.com app (don’t know if the issue was from the Voyager side or the app side) so make sure you contact them in time if you need pickup from the airport. But all in all, this was a wonderful place that we highly recommend!"

Hotel English Point Marina & Spa

10/10 Fantastiskt

"The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was sumptuous. Lots of choices and good service. Excellent front desk staff. The reception area could use a renovation/repaint and some better lighting. Thankfully that is not a requirement for the excellent rooms. The restaurants on the property and the waterside bar are of disappointing quality. This wouldn’t be an issue if there were good restaurants within walking distance. Overall, the hotel is good value.
