“We just wanted a little place all to ourselves that felt warm and homely and this place did that for us. The log fire keeps the cottage toasty warm and the autumn leaves all around us was beautiful. The steps up can be slippery in the wet but that was to be expected with where the cottages were and with all the trees surrounding them. ”

“What is not to like about this property? It's cosy, clean and well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host was friendly and easy to contact but respected our privacy. Complimentary breakfast items and wine were provided along with fire wood and cooking staples. The bed was super comfortable. This place is in such a beautiful setting with an idyllic view over the valley. We sat for hours on the deck listening to the sounds of nature around us, watching the sun come up...

“My husband and I had a great time at The Shack. Alison was prompt and communicative in the lead up to the stay and we found the property exactly as advertised. We really appreciated the breakfast and snack options, and also our interactions with the resident golden retriever, Daisy! (Who was also very obedient and could be contained if that was an issue for others!) We loved the coziness of the fireplace and will certainly try to come back in warmer months when we can make use of the outside...

“Lucini cottage is one of a small group of cottages set in secluded street just off the main road in Hepburn. All I can say, is WOW, what a gorgeous and welcoming place. We arrived on a very cold night and after a long drive we appreciated that the lights and gas log fire place were on to greet us. Beautifully decorated and very cozy and only few minutes drive to Daylesford town centre.”

“The double spa bath is very welcome and decadent. The exterior is fun and has a luxurious cottage feel. Outside of that the cottage felt underwhelming, tired and in need of some repair. The bathroom needs regrouting, the vanity light wasn't working, the bed felt small, the main TV kept restarting and the light in the kitchen had a cardboard-box shade. All the appliances felt tired and in need of replacement. For the amount paid, it felt more like a 3 star than a 4 or 5 star stay.”

“This cottage ticked all the boxes for us -comfortable, well-furnished, and cute as a button. The bedroom has good bedside lamps for reading and we slept well. The kitchen and living space are well designed and attractively styled. The air-con cools the house nicely, and the fireplace looks very inviting for the winter months. But lovely as the interior is, our favourite spot was the front porch with its sunny aspect and restful view of trees. Hard to say who liked it more - us or our kelpie....

“Novella and Bob were wonderful hosts and very thoughtful which helped us settle us very quickly. As this was winter time we appreciated the fire already alight and even the electric blanket was on. Little extras in the fridge for us to enjoy we appreciated. Bed we found very comfortable. We will not hesitate to tell others of this special place and we will go again.”

“Lovely 2 bedroom plus bungalow home close to the main street. Luxury linens, everything is lovely quality even the tea towels. Jane lives onsite in a studio and her sister is next door so help is always available. Only issue (not mentioned in the ad) was that one bedroom is separate to the house so not suitable for anyone who needs the toilet overnight in cold weather. Gorgeous vintage furniture and a very homely vibe throughout.”

“We were initially disappointed with the lack of air conditioning although listed for the property, however following a phone conversation where our concerns were put at ease, and the property was lovely and cool as stated made it very comfortable. All-in-all, a very satisfactory stay”
