“The room was exactly as anticipated. Clean, odorless, AC worked perfect, decor was current and tidy. Continental breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Express fare, but food quality was a little lacking compared to all other Holiday Inn Expresses. We’ve stayed at.”

“I had some idea that the hotel would be rundown, and boy it was. The first room I was given the key to had not been cleaned. The second room had at least been cleaned and made up, but you can tell that the owner/staff only do the bare minimum to keep this place open. When I went to check out in the morning, around 8:15am, the front door was still locked though hours say 7am. Tried to call twice, letting it ring for over a minute each time, but never got an answer. Had the same issue calling...

“Two story facility with no elevator. Difficult for those with heavy luggage. No grab rails in shower. No USB port plug ins for electronics. Cigarette butts on the ground by all entrances. Staff was friendly and helpful, but had to work with a substandard facility.”

“We had often joked about the Huggy Bear Motel on trips to and from Indianapolis in the past. Shockingly, we actually stayed there recently when we moved our son into a local university...and it was great. It's a simple roadside motel that is in remarkably good shape. We stayed two nights and had no problems whatsoever. The AC kept us cool on hot nights; the beds, though a bit soft for my taste, were comfortable. If you're looking for a safe, clean place to stay and don't mind an old-school...

“Did not like the idea that it was called "the cottage", implying it was a cute quaint house in a nice area. It is in an industrial, factory area, that we could hear loudly all night. The neighborhood was sketchy with a bar next to it. Will not go back there.”
