“A small group of friends, myself, and my two dogs stayed here to watch the solar eclipse. The spacious backyard was the perfect place for eclipse viewing and the small town was close enough to Lake Placid for a morning shopping trip but far enough away to avoid the traffic. The house itself has GORGEOUS views, a relaxing hot tub (perfect for after a long hike), and a fully equipped kitchen. Overall it was the perfect home away from home to spend a long weekend.”

“Beautiful, clean home in a great location to Whiteface and the town of Lake Placid. Went to go skiing and got more than I imagined. Basement with ping-pong and foosball kept "the boys" entertained at night. I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while it was snowing. Definitely on my top 3 places I've stayed at, and will rent again.”

“It was cold during our stay and being right on top of the water there was a very large temperature gradient from the floor to ceiling. We had an infant sleeping in a pack n play on the floor and so it was necessary to blow a fan and move the air. The temp at the floor on our baby monitor was reading 61 while the heat in the room was set to 77. So be aware if you have an infant. Additionally the floor was bowing and popping up in many places. Likely due to extreme temperature swings or humidity....

I will say if you have mobility issues, this is a bit tricky to reach the door in the snow. My mother-in-law needed lots of help. It was slick and the path to the front door was loose rocks.
