A fun relaxing weekend
The property is beautiful. The owners have thought of everything and provided for you. The owners are very friendly and there to help but unobtrusive. The seafood farm experience was great. There were lots of oysters, clams and mussels. Plus the mountain and Puget Sound views create a very relaxing experience. This was one of our best stays ever. If you like the outdoors you will love it. Just note there are 55 steps to the beach and some are steep and occasionally wet.

Sunset Lagoon getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The setting was beautiful, our hosts, Dale and Carol, were very welcoming and helpful, and the house contained everything we could possibly need. The icing on the cake was being able to harvest clams, mussels, and oysters for our meals. We would highly recommend this place to any of our friends!

Sparking, Spacious & Gracious
Carol & Dale deserve every bit of their high praise. Genuinely kind and thoughtful people who while respectful of your privacy make their availability and helpfulness clear. We got an oyster shucking lesson from Dale. Their generosity is as abundant as the clams and oysters they tend and offer you freely. Everything you need to know for your stay is in their very organized notebook. The place was much larger than we thought from the images and very clean, comfortable and tasteful. Beautiful setting and huge windows to enjoy it all. Lovely visit. Thank you both so much!

Wonderful hosts and beautiful spot
Our stay in February was more than advertised. Dale and Carol made everything easy and are super friendly. The property was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view is incredible and the shellfish abundant. We walked the whole island in a couple hours and got a sense for the community. Beautiful spot.

Case Inlet Bliss
I can’t say enough good things about our stay and experience with Dale and Carol. They are super sweet, graciously generous, amazingly accommodating; always kindly available but not intrusive. Just all around superb hosts. I wish I could keep this place secret so we can keep it all to ourselves, and protected, but all good things must be shared :) . The clams, mussels, and oyster farm was 5 Star quality and my wife and I had fun foraging for our night’s dinner. Dale and Carol provided everything you need from instructions on how to forage, recipes, and even provided a few simple ingredients we forgot to pack. The sea bounty at Sunset Cove fed us with memorable meals throughout our weekend, and we could not ask for anything better. We already booked our next stay!! Thank you so much, Dale & Carol

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
When looking into this place, I had wondered why the Millers had a cumulative average 5.0 from all the reviewers. Now I understand why. Dale and Carol were great, very hospitable, available to help. The place was as advertised, no disappointing surprises. The setting and views were peaceful and pretty. The shellfish were great. We ate butter clams, mussels, and oysters. We also enjoyed seeing and feeding the deer that came onto the lawn in the evening. Our small dogs, 12# and 14# cockapoos, enjoyed the walks and beach. They were too small to take the stairs to the beach, as it is quite steep, but a public path to the beach is nearby. We stayed three nights. We will be back.

Dale and Carol were the best host we have ever had in our travels, there property is Ten Star.
Some of the best people I have ever met in my life, we will make this a two to three time a year trip to there property, Clean , well kept place. And the neighbors were awesome as well. This is a lovely place to take your family. We had the best time for our anniversary. Thank you both you are amazing people.

2nd time is still awesome!
I absolutely love this property! So relaxing and yet there are plenty of activities to keep folks busy. Kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, clamming, beach combing, deer feeding, Orca spotting (yup, we spotted some) and so much more. Not for parties or loud group though. Love the owners.

Our family favorite!
This is our family’s favorite place to stay for a relaxing weekend getaway! This is our third time visiting and we always love it here. The view of the Puget Sound is beautiful, home is clean and very comfortable and we love having access to the kayaks and paddle board. It’s a perfect place to unwind in nature. Had the Best Time!
Carol was very helpful in answering all my questions before our stay, and she kept us updated any time the ferry schedule changed. Her and Dale were very welcoming when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land - we immediately felt right at home! There were so many fun activities to choose from - paddle boat, kayaks, row boat, SUPs, exploring the island. My kids especially enjoyed the tree swing, feeding the deer and going to the park! We enjoyed coffee in the quiet mornings, meals on the deck, and beautiful sunsets in the evening. Amazing view of the Sound and mountain range! Dale and Carol showed us how to dig for clams, clean/prepare them, cook them, and even how to shuck oysters! We had a wonderful couple days, and I can’t wait until we can come back!

Beautiful location.
This property is a little different because the owners live above the rental. They were a great combination of very helpful and respectful of our privacy. Our daughter and grandkids ages 3 and 5, were there for a short time. It was fun for them but my daughter was concerned about the long stairs and the deep water etc. She didn’t find it restful. Maybe be better for some older children. The beach was very nice and we swam though a little chilly but refreshing. It was in the 90’s a couple of times and the AC was great. The room area is very nice and modern. Very comfortable bed. My husband also did some fishing off the shore. And we tried the shell fish which was fun. Oh and orcas and dolphins were seen off the beach. I definitely would recommend.

Pictures didn't do it justice!
There were many new beautiful additions to the home decor, very quaint. And the view, OMG! As far as the eye could see. The clam digging was super easy and fun and when the tide was low the beach stretched on forever and revealed many hidden treasures. The deer and fawn grazing just added to the charm.

Carol and Dale were very kind and showed us how to harvest clams and oysters. They also gave us an onion when we realized we needed one for the clam chowder. They also had a very adorable german shepherd who was so well behaved and gentle. Overall it was a fun experience. 10/10 would stay again.

Beautiful Views of the Pacific North West
Everything about this place is warm and welcoming. Amazing location, with awesome views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. Even getting there is part of the adventure. Accommodations were extremely clean with a comfortable large bed, recessed lighting, and fireplace to set the mood. Relaxing Getaway
Carol & Dale's place has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans and all the things you might need for cooking. The place is immaculately clean and the view is lovely. We were there during bad a rainy weekend and enjoyed the gas fireplace and hanging out watching movies on the comfortable couch. We look forward to returning during better weather to use the kayaks and paddleboat.

Relaxing vacation
This is our second time staying at Sunset Lagoon. It's absolutely gorgeous. The owners, Dale and Carol, continue make it a better place for the guests. They added a new swing and light house this year. My son loves the swing very much. The place is always clean. We enjoyed paddle boating and digging clams. Midweek Escape
We caught two perfect weather days in mid March to enjoy this beautiful setting of inlet and Olympic Mountains. Dale and Carol were welcoming and helpful. It was a quiet, peaceful and serene respite. Wonderful weekend getaway!
Wonderful weekend getaway! We enjoyed the accommodations on an Herron Island. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, and good entertainment. We especially appreciated The ease of access to the water and the use of the kayaks, paddle boat, and paddleboard. We also thoroughly enjoyed just exploring the islands, feeding the deer, and seeing seals, dolphins, and otters. Our hosts were wonderful and we look forward to traveling there again.

Perfect weekend getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sunset Lagoon. The views and beach access are amazing, and we caught oysters and clams for dinner. The property is really enjoyable and we got really lucky with the weather so we spent most of our time outside, remarkable for a February. Carol and Dale are very nice and helpful, and were really responsive to our questions ahead of time. They were really nice about letting us charge our car overnight, which we very much appreciated. Quiet oasis

Beautiful view and clam/oyster feast
We had a wonderful time walking from the south beach to the north beach. Collected clams, mussels and oysters by headlamp on the beach right in front our place! Enjoyed a fire in their outdoor fire pit. Very clean and spacious. Owners are super nice. When the island lost power due to a fallen tree, we had power on within 20 min because they had a generator. They had everything we needed for a perfect weekend! Thank you!

Magical Weekend Getaway
My boyfriend and I had the BEST time staying at the sunset lagoon retreat! Dale and Carole's home was amazing--so much more beautiful than the pictures listed capture. We relaxed and watched cable and ate snacks, walked on the beach, and even got to take the kayaks out while we were there! We saw seals, and even a pod of dolphins! Dale even let us stay at the house later in the day during checkout since we missed our ferry on the way out. We had so much fun staying on Herron island and can't wait to come back to visit. Gorgeous location.
We loved our stay at Sunset Lagoon. The views from the deck, overlooking the lagoon, and the Puget Sound where beautiful, especially at sunset. The location lived up to its named. We took out the kayaks and paddle board to explore the islands shoreline and watch wildlife, which was such a big bonus to our stay. The accommodations where comfortable, cute, and cozy. And I could go on and on about how cool (and delicious) it was to collect fresh oyster, muscles and clams from the lagoon just below the property. Additionally, Dale and Carol were very nice, even lending us a specific cooking accessory that we forgot to pack. We are hoping to return again sometime in the near future.

Best place I have stayed at
I loved the property. My husband, myself and our adult son had a great time reconnecting. Carol and Dale were excellent hosts. The lagoon was cool and we got to go digging for clams, oysters and mussels. So much fun. Then Dale came and showed us how to shuck the oysters since we had never done that before. We will definitely be booking again.

A relaxing wonderland
Perfect little getaway in a clean, quiet, and beautiful place. Dale and Carol are just the best hosts - there in a flash when you need them and gave us plenty of space the rest of the time. The house is small, cozy, and clean, with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The lagoon is filled with shellfish - a seafood lovers dream! Came here with my husband and 6 year old who had a blast exploring the lagoon at low tide, learning how to dig for clams, kayaking, watching the sunset, and exploring the island. I would return here in a heartbeat!

Little Slice of Paradise
What a beautiful, relaxing weekend. My husband and I took a quick trip away to enjoy each other and it was magical in every way. A whale entertained us while we waited for the ferry, the deer greeted us as we drove to this amazing place and Carol and Dale were so welcoming and friendly. We had the best time staying cozy with a breathtaking view and digging clams (it's like digging for treasure), and steaming them for dinner. The space is the cleanest we've ever seen. Shell fish lovers paradise!
Dale and Carol are wonderful hosts. They were helpful, dependable, quiet, generous, informative, and invisible-until we needed something! The living space is large, open yet private, comfortable, quiet, with a beautiful view of the ocean from every corner. The oysters and manila clams were the best we've ever had and the deck table and BBQ were our second kitchen. We returned from our 9 nights refreshed and relaxed. Can't wait to return. It was the first time we were all able to truly relax and enjoy ourselves without having to think about normal life. Our kids didn't want to leave. Our stay was magic. Simple and relaxing
Our stay was a simple getaway. The space is very comfortable and views are spectacular. The hosts are very nice and friendly. They are responsive and very gracious. We were looking to relax and enjoy some time outdoors and we did just that. We could not have asked for a nicer couple of days in this secluded quiet neighborhood.

Another great stay at Sunset Lagoon
Loved it so much last summer, we returned this year. Dale and Carol are the best! They have a beautiful set up. Always sad to head for home. Thank you!!

We love this family. Wonderful people. Always leaves our place clean and tidy. Love having conversations with them. Love to host them again. We would recommend them to any host.

A perfect getaway!
Our family had the most wonderful and relaxing time here! Carol and Dale are so warm and welcoming. Their property is amazing - clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We were looking for a peaceful place to relax and have access to the water for our kids (ages 4 &. 7) to play. This exceeded our expectations! Our kids loved feeding the deer, picking oysters, kayaking and swimming. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you Carol and Dale for a wonderful weekend!

Best Fourth of July ever!
My family and I were looking for a place to stay and relax especially given the pandemic. We had one of the best July fourth’s we’ve ever had!!! The accommodation was super clean and neat and well stocked with all of the things you could possibly need. There were even carrots for the kids to feed the deer. Carol and Dale were very nice and always available to help us with anything if needed. We had a very nice view of the water, and had access to kayaking, paddle boarding, and other water activities. We also had access to a lagoon where we could dig for clams and find oysters. The seafood was so yummy! Overall we had a really relaxing and fun time, and we definitely want to come back in the future. Thank you Carol and Dale!

Wonderful time at Sunset Lagoon
We enjoyed our stay at Sunset Lagoon. It is perfect place for the kids. We loved kayaking, paddle boating and digging clams, oysters. The owners, Carol and Dale, are very nice and friendly. They had all the tools needed to dig clams and oysters. They also left carrots in the fridge for the kids to feed the deers. We forgot several items at the property. Dale brought them to us while we were waiting for the ferry. It's beautiful island for vacationing especially during this pandemic when we need social distancing. We strongly recomend this property and will return next year. Thank you Dale and Carol.

Relaxing Getaway
This place was extremely clean and the owners are so nice. The kayaks were so fun and the oysters were delicious. It rained all day one day but still had a very nice relaxing day with the cozy fireplace.

I loved this location so much that I visited twice in the same month. Property is immaculately clean and the views can't be beat! If you love oysters and wildlife, you will be completely enamored as well <3
