This stay completely ruined our trip.
From the moment we arrived, everything was disorganized. The parking was locked, there were no signs or staff, and reception was empty. We found a staff member in the restaurant after ~20 minutes.
Check-in took about 30 minutes, and only at the end we were told it starts at 3:00 PM (it was 2:30 PM). This could have been said immediately.
The room had serious issues:
• windows don’t lock
• the safe doesn’t work (no lock)
• TV not properly installed
• strong chemical smell
• poor cleanliness (dead mosquito, wet toilet seat)
We asked to fix the windows, but were told none of the rooms have locking windows — this is considered “normal.” The safe issue was “solved” by giving us a separate lock with a ~$200 penalty if lost.
Safety is clearly not a priority. Staff kept saying “nothing happens here,” which is not acceptable.
At one point our car was blocked. I went to the restaurant (no one at reception), but the music was extremely loud. Even after asking to lower it, I still had to raise my voice to communicate, which was taken negatively. Staff response was unprofessional.
The owner interrupted, didn’t listen, and suggested we take a refund and leave instead of fixing anything.
We stayed only because it was Semana Santa and no alternatives were available. The only positive was the restaurant — good food, especially mangú.
Conclusion:
Does not meet basic standards of safety, organization, or service. Not recommended.
