Despite a confirmed booking by Expedia, upon arrival at Lux Suites the Palm around 8h30pm in the evening, I was told that there was no room available. “As expected given the price this is far from an upmarket area. The rooms were small but clean. Initially I was given a not very nice room with an ensuite that was more like an alcove with no shower but was fortunately moved to a better one. We had to navigate building works to get into the property and then walk on a raised wooden walkway. The place was clean and the staff pleasant and helpful”

“Our stay at Swahili House was bittersweet. I agree with other reviews that mention the misleading pictures since there are several different houses for rent. There are three pools but you only get access to one ("your") pool. So forget about the others. The water in the pool was very warm. The pool's cleaning system was off now and then so we had to ask to turn it on. We stayed at Lofty Cottage for 5 nights. The house' Swahili style was very special.
