Enhet 304 ����r en enkel, v��ltalig och rymlig lägenhet som vi kallar "Shell i en handbasket." Den var helt ombyggd från topp till tå i 2015 och har en fin ny k��nsla för den. Uppe på översta våningen kan du se fraktfjädrar i horisonten som migrerar på sina sjöfartsleder och observera gr����hvalarna närmare migrera som en del av deras parningsritual.

No. 304 Shell i en Handbasket sover fyra p�� en helt ny queen size murphy säng i Ocean Suite och en annan queen size-säng i det privata sovrummet. Oceanfront-sviten är bred och öppen med två avkopplande stolar, en loveseat och en flatscreen-TV med DVD-spelare och ett DVD-bibliotek. Köket är fullt utrustat med en full storlek kylskåp, spishäll och kokplatta, mikrovågsugn och köksredskap.

The good: The communication was great after I reserved the property which made me feel good about reserving online. The location was great for our needs as well which is a big part of why I chose it. The kitchen was well equipped if you need one and it had a full size fridge which was nice.The not so good: The property itself was just ok. I thought the pictures made it seem more updated than it actually was. The ceiling fan was completely covered in thick dust that made me think it was just a “ quick surface clean” kinda place which I don’t love. The floor had some sticky spots on it and the walls had stains. I was a bit disappointed in the fact that it wasn’t really that clean and was a 4pm check in time due to housekeeping. The location was good for our needs, but I would have liked a cleaner space to stay the night, not just for the cost but to feel comfortable sleeping in. We only stayed one night here.

Simple but adequate

Clean, close to city center, and all the basics that you need. My only issue during the stay was the living room TV - remote controls do not match equipment or the provided instructions. Management and I were not able to change the aspect ratio (picture cut off) and could not change input from cable to DVD.

The view + cleanliness, impeccable!

When we first arrived we walked into the smell of clean fresh air with a view that will make you not want to leave. Showers and everything were very clean. We noticed that the microwave is a bit finicky and may have to push button a few times before it’ll work. Amazing stay, we’ll definitely stay again!

Great room

The condo was exactly what my family needed! Very clean and the view was amazing! We loved hearing the ocean waves in the evenings. The building itself felt a bit old and the balcony felt a little unstable in areas but nothing that would prevent me from renting again.

The beach …

This property was exactly how it was pictured on vrbo. Had a little issue with the hot water - not hot enough. Wish there had been an elevator but we got good workouts. First time in the area and the beaches are beautiful - the wind, not so much. Would definitely come back to the Sea Gypsy and Shell in a Handbasket again.

On the Beach

The SeaGypsy is right on the beach with a great view and beach access. This is our second stay at the SeaGypsy. You can really hear your neighbors through thin walls, always bring earplugs for a good night sleep. Unit 304 has great wifi, and everything you need for good beach vacation. The unit could use a few updates: new mattress for murphy bed (mattress topper made the bed tolerable), carpet repair, and new furniture. Unit 304 is just not as updated and kitchen is not as well stocked as the previous unit we stayed in.

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed in one of Troy’s Sea Gypsy units. Overall, Shell in a Handbasket was a nice condo. Unfortunately, I neglected to read all the amenities and discovered the hard way that there was no dishwasher....which would explain the not so clean dishes in the cupboard. I didn’t feel like washing all dishes so I could use them (apologies to the folks that rented the condo after me) so we didn’t use any of them.

Great Trip

This was a delightful little condo that has had many nice updates. The beds and bedding were comfortable. Access to the beach was outside our door. The only negative thing was the pool was closed and there wasn't any communication to that point. Would definitely go back!

Weekend get away

The property was older and well used. It had an excellent view. The bed was comfortable. It had an easy self check-in process. The communication from the owner prior to arrival was timely, thorough and easy to follow. Good location.

The refrigerator need a wipe down. One of the bulbs in the murphy bed is out. Otherwise, we loved staying here! Comfotable and close proximity to the beach. Wonderful view, kind staff. We will come again!

Great coast view!

Loved the Murphy bed. Made the condo very homey. 3flights up wasn’t the easiest, but the ocean view in our unit made it worth it. Unit was clean and met our needs. I’ll be staying in 304 again.

Clean, spacious, overall good experience

The place was very clean and we had lots of room. We loved the Murphy bed in the living room, it was a bit more noisy in the room since it's on the side of the common walkway. It was nice having a huge window with a view of the ocean from the living room as well. So pretty! Even when it's cloudy. The only negative thing was that the kitchen wasn't really furnished, so it was a bit hard to cook. But if you plan on eating out, that's not really a problem. Other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Perfect for beach access

Everything listed about this property is true. Sea Gypsy is an old beachfront hotel that has been converted to condos. This means two hotel rooms have been combined and converted into a condo. I liked this set up as the front room, the one facing the beach, had a Murphy bed rather than a traditional bed in it. This meant during the day we had more room in our living room. The back bedroom at a perfectly comfortable queen-size bed, dresser and enough room to set up the pack and play. It also had its own bathroom. I spent memorial day weekend here with my three kids and it was a perfect set up for us. It is two flights of stairs up to the condo, with no elevator. While this made unpacking and packing the car annoying, it was expected so not an unknown hassle. The kitchen is completely adequate, we cooked every meal while we stayed. I brought all the food from home, but if you were staying longer, you may want to grab the spices as there were very few. If you have 4 adults you may want to bring more silverware as there is a setfor 4 but with pieces missing. (My kids are young enough that not all need silverware and we did finger food). Has good working coffee pot and two good bathrooms with good deep tubs and water pressure. Plenty of towels were provided to meet the needs of my family of four, however I did bring my own pool/beach towels. The biggest advantage this place has is it easy access to the beach. While it is right next to the D river state access beach, the d river separates the two beaches. Even on Memorial Day, "our" side of the beach was noticeably less crowded than the D river side. My kids loved digging in the sand, running in the water and flying kites. Every night people had fires on the beach but with 3 small kids, I wasn't up to trying it. Maybe next time. The sea gypsy pool is saltwater, so less chemicals, and big enough that my kids enjoyed it and we didn't feel crowded when other people were there as well. Since we were "saving money "we ate most of our meals in, but noticed plenty of things within walking distance. One nice touch was the vacuum cleaner and broom/dust pan left in the condo. Anyone who's ever been to a beach knows sand will get everywhere. This made it easier to manage the sand in the condo and therefore all over me and the kids. Another nice perk is that there is a nighttime security guard during the summer. Well I'm not sure it's needed, it was nice to know.

Wonderful stay!
