“Very friendly staff. Great location with excellent views over the beach and sea. Good cooked breakfast and free parking in front of the hotel and along the waterfront. Easy walking (2-3 mintes) to shops and restaurants in Criccieth center. The only negative with our stay was that the double bed was quite small, and smaller to what we normally see in hotels.”

“Our stay at The Marine Hotel was lovely. The room was lovey with a view of the castle and then of the ocean to our right. The room itself was clean. The bed was comfy and there was always great coffee available from Dee in the cafe downstairs. Will definitely be coming back for another adventure and would recommend.”

“Wonderful stay at Pale Hall Hotel. Beautiful and comfortable room. Warm and welcoming staff. Excellent dining options - a tasting menu / fine dining or a bar menu. Both served in a beautiful dining room. We had the bar menu and it was wonderfully cooked.

“I arrived from London on the motorcycle and had a warm welcome with a lovely comfortable bed and a very good bathroom with a top class shower. Sadly I arrived too late for their delicious menu as the kitchen closes early on Sunday. But I will be back very soon as I have moved near Chester and Bala is only miles away. Highly recommended. “Yr Hen Farcdy is wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting, close to Snowdonia and all the special areas of north Wales. The rooms are comfortable, attractive and private, and the hosts Mike and Sue could not be more hepful. The breakfasts are delicious with a great range of options. We loved our 6 nights there and highly recommend it as a base fir exploring the region, or a spot for just chilling out.”

As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog.

We had an evening meal the first night of our stay that was delicious and reasonably priced.
The location is great and extremely handy for public transport. The railways station is literally next door and that is how we travelled.
Only a couple of things to be aware of, the access stairs to the upstairs rooms are narrow and extremely steep.”
