Staying at the Savoy
The Savoy was as elegant as always. From approaching the main entrance via the court yard with the impressive Lalique fountain and the greeting door men to the comfortable beds in the lovely appointed room. It has been some years since the extensive refurbishment during which time the hotel was completely closed, and this is can be seen with some slight wear and tear. But on the other hand the old building benifits from the patina which adds to the overall experience. The location is just a few minutes of walking distance from Trafalgar Square. Taxis are always standby at the hotel. The room overlooked the Thames but a lot of trees in the park obstructed most of the view. The room was on the third floor. Room decore was in classic style. There are two types of rooms, classic and Art Deco, the latter being my preference. Rooms also have both bath tub and separate shower with detachable handle. In the hotel is the elegant cocktail bar American Bar which is well worth a visit. The hotel attracts many outside visitors, especially for Afternoon Tea. The lounges, bars and restaurants can be quite crowded from time to time.

Hjärtat av West end
Läget utmärkt för musikalbesök (Savoy theatre dörr i dörr) plus många andra teatrar i närheten. Shopping och strosa, Covent garden ett kvarter bort. Doormen i hög hatt och consierge som är mycket hjälpfulla med alla tänkbara behov. Hotellets historia minst sagt mäktig. Trevligt med en liten pool, inte jättevanligt på Londonhotell. Lite kuriosa: Första hotellet i London som införde elektriska hissar och enda som har högertrafik på uppfarten.. Framförallt blev man väldigt väl omhändertagen och ompysslad i väldigt fin, historisk miljö I restaurangväg har hotellet flera, Gordon Ramsey´s Savoy Grill den som smäller högst.

Lyxig londonweekend på Savoy
om man någon gång vill kosta på sig lite onödig lyx är nog en långhelg i London på Savoy ett utmärkt val. Det känns nästan overkligt lyxigt att gå in genom lobbyn och var man än går bara mötas av artiga, vänliga människor. Rummen var ganska små och inte så märkvärdiga, men allt annat var fantastiskt, inte minst frukostmatsalen och spa-avdelnignen med pool. Det är klart det är dyrt, även om vi fick en specialare, betala för två, sov tre nätter.

Hög servicenivå
Mycket proffsig och service minded personal, och mycket personal. Som gäst känner man sig mottagen som en kunglighet. Fantastisk miljö i ett anrikt hotell. Frukosten dyr i förhållande till innehåll, om man däremot gärna lägger ett antal hundra per man för att 4 personer ur personalen skall lägga servetten i knäet och hälla upp mera te en gång i minuten så är den kanske värd sitt pris.

It was all perfect: the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the cooked breakfast was the best I have ever eaten in a hotel - and I have eaten many in my lifetime. I would return in a heartbeat.

Perfect place to stay for Christmas atmosphere. It really felt special and a nice escape. I wouldn’t change a thing but the restaurants. By Gordon Ramsey, they were the worst and most overpriced food in London.

The stay was amazing and as always love staying here. However we came down for breakfast told the wait would be 15-20 minutes we waited 45 minutes and went back to find out what was happening. It seems we had been forgotten so we left. Disappointing as it is part of staying at the Savoy.

Savoy…is it a 5 star experience?
Lovely hotel, service needed a lot more attention dining at the hotel was a joke especially weekends, insufficient room for hotel guests. We had not been informed the need to book both restaurants for breakfast (excluding Gordon Ramsay) and especially the American Bar during the evening when the place was taken over by the next door theatre goers having pre drinks. So regardless of your stay you could not enter! Room was nice and very clean. Sorry to gripe but my partner and I had a room on the ninth floor of the hotel, two very small elevators servicing the wing we were in. During a 10 day stay, the elevators were being continuously worked upon leaving one only working. On one occasion one was being worked upon the other simply gave up the ghost we ended up walking down the stair well. A second occasion whilst in the elevator with a member of staff the and other guests, the elevator stopped then started to free fall a little before juddering to a halt. We obviously managed to get back to the ground floor from the 6th. Tow of the lady guests in the elevator were incredibly frightened by the experience. Last day hotel could not find our luggage and we waited 20 minutes for some to be found. All in all a great experience with obvious issues regarding staff.

We offer you our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences of the lift maintenance that occurred throughout your stay. Understandably, there was not only a daily frustration but alarm when on one occasion the lift came to an abrupt halt. The timeliness of the maintenance was not ideal at all, but nevertheless necessary to keep these lifts maintained to the strictest of safety standards. With regard to booking our venues, usually it would not be necessary to book a table in advance, but it is always recommended to avoid disappointment, especially during the festive season and other special occasion in the year. A communication is sent from our guest relations team advising to book so we are sorry this message was not received in time. Even without a booking for the bars, our resident guests should always take priority over external guests with a wait time honoured. We are sorry for the difficulties you experienced in this respect. We would also like to apologise for the luggage delay on your last day and hope this situation did not delay you too much in your onward journey. We care very much about how we make our guests feel and we want you to know that we have made a careful note of your comments, so ensure that should we have the pleasure of welcoming you again to The Savoy, that you enjoy a seamless, less frustrating and more enjoyable experience with us. Thank you again for your review and we send you all good wishes for 2024.

a perfect stay
I had a really comfortable two days at the Savoy Hotel. The Christmas decorations were absolutely beautiful and I had the perfect holiday from American Bar to great cocktails, afternoons, and breakfast. Best London hotel to recommend to everyone!
