“Was falsely promised a good view and turned out we got a room facing another building. Amenities are very old. Inspite being a birthday weekend, no courtesy change of room provided.”

“They could not find their maintenance man to unlock the pool, apparently he had the one and only gate key to the pool. At breakfast the served link sausage that looked raw and just generally nasty. The tub in our room was dirty, apparently housekeeping does not scrub the sides of the tub, the tub had a water leak and was also slimy where water stood.”

“It was perfect for what we needed. A reasonably priced no frills family friendly establishment close to everything.”

“The room was not ready!! Beds weren't made. Towels on floor trash everywhere. Said they could not clean housekeeping was not there. Could not get another room all booked. I'm 73 used Expedia lost money and handicapped. Did not need this abuse. I would like our money back!!!!!!! Terrible terrible experience. Was there to watch my grandaughter perform in competition. Four hours away from home What can be done”

“This hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations! We found our room, as well as the facility, to be extremely clean and comfortable. The decor is in keeping with the "lodge" feel. The lobby is welcoming with a massive fireplace and attractive stairwells. The indoor pool is a good size and depth for our grandsons, ages 12 and 9. The check-in and check-out staff were cordial and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was impressive with the amount of items available--waffles, pancakes, french toast...

“The Retro was a nice place to stay. The only thing I would change would be to have another trash can under the table and put down something in the bottom of the tub. The bottom of the tub was very slick when trying to shower. It would have been nice to have some fruit and protein for breakfast. We had to go buy breakfast to get anything healthy. Overall was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful.”

“First of all. Don’t judge this hotel by the pictures on Expedia. There is a reason there are not many. The building and facilities are not updated or well maintained. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel where quality matches price. This is the place for you. If you stay here-do not use the cheaper non refundable rate that is offered. I made that mistake. Expedia doesn’t care that the pictures they allow on their listing doesn’t represent the actual hotel. The lobby and main floor...

“We loved our stay and will stay here on the next trip! Free dessert from 9-11pm was awesome and unique that no other hotel has offered and breakfast was great the next morning. Room was super clean, shower is hot and staff was wonderful!”
