“This is an ideal hiker's hotel. It's not a luxury hotel, and it should not be expected to be one. This is the hotel you want when your goal is to pursue recreational activities in Baxter State Park. The rooms are clean. The parking is free. There are a few items in the free breakfast you might want, but if you're getting up and going early, it's probably more relevant that you have a microwave and refrigerator in your room. I was able to get up at 3 AM, make my oatmeal, and make it out the door...

“We had a wonderful stay at the Motel on the River. The owners are wonderful, helpful people and they really show interest in their guests. They gave us good advice about places worth visiting in the area and we also used the Motel as a base to drive to Acadia National Park, which is beautiful. We ( parents with 3 young adults) climbed the beehive trail in the Park which is really worth climbing, not only for the adventure but also because of the beauty of te surroundings. Thanks for everything...

“Had the necessary amenities, beds were fine and was clean. A cold breakfast to eat in the lobby or bring to your room was offered (for us, this breakfast lasted at least for another snack). Standard was fine (had had some updates) but location basically required a car to get anywhere. Little overhearing between rooms. Served us well!”

“Pet friendly room.
"Continental Breakfast" was VERY limited in selection, but it was free, so i guess you get what you pay for. (Gas station and Dunkin Donuts across the street have much of what you probably want.)
We needed a place to sleep on our trip north, and this place met that need.”

“While it is an old style motor inn and doesn’t look like much from the outside, the rooms are large, bathroom updated and large and everything extremely clean. There were extra touches such as large fluffy towels, soft linens, comfortable bed with four pillows and a nice fridge that you usually don’t find at this price point. Excellent value. Everyone there was helpful.”
