“I wanted a trip to escape with my kiddos and be in nature!! This was exactly that. We enjoyed every minute and the best part was we were left alone. There was enough dishes for a family of 4. Theres a microwave, small toaster oven (I thought I could make puzza and you have to 4th the pizza to do so), there's a grilling grate, so we brought tin foil for burgers; super good. Porcupine trail let me practice the art of Forest Bathing and led me to serene views of Lake Superior and its serenity of waves. Definitely a great way to relax after a busy school year. “We were happy to get the cabin at Camp Amnicon and had no problems during our stay. It is the off season and the weather was cool and we had a couple of rainy spells, but we hiked and watched birds each day in spite of the weather. Hiking to the Lake Superior beach was enjoyable. We had no problem carting our gear in to the "walk in" cabin. Numerous hikes, state parks, and birdwatching sites are a short drive away. Birdwatching from the cabin was productive and interesting. Morgan was so kind and responsive, and when the coffee maker went on the fritz, drove another one right over! We had a wonderful stay, and this was an ideal spot for anyone coming for Grandma's marathon. It is really close to a great cheer spot on mile 14 of the course! Highly recommend! ”
