Wonderful!
This is a wonderful place to stay to explore North Cascade National Park and surrounding areas such as Mt Baker. The home is spacious, comfortable, very clean and has many amenities to make your stay pleasant. The views are absolutely awesome!! The host is quick to answer any questions or concerns. I highly recommend Rainbow House!

Luxury Mountain Retreat
My wife and I enjoy finding off-the-beaten-path places to stay when we are hiking the National Parks and on vacation. The Rainbow House certainly fits the bill and more! Although there is a main road out front, you don't hear cars and have a house on five acres all to yourself! Not to mention being surrounded by a 360 mountain view! Access to NP trailheads and the Visitor Center are close by. We spend our day hiking and meeting with people, so to have a place to call your own is right for us! The Rainbow House is perfect for families and it was a luxury space for the two of us! The owners have thought of everything and if it is not in this house, you don't need it! Communication with Steve is excellent and the cleanliness of the house is impeccable! There are not a lot of rentals in this area, so if you are considering visiting this area, book it!

Closest to Cascades NP!
Our family of 6 loved our stay here! It was inspiringly beautiful and conveniently close to Cascades NP. Thankfully it wasn't too hot as without AC the four beds in the loft might have been a bit warm at night without AC. The only other feedback is that the water pressure was low (couldn't shower when dishwasher was running, etc.) but Steve was very responsive to us and he had great suggestions on what to do in the area. We definitely recommend staying here when you're in the area.

Thanks for the helpful comments, particularly regarding the water pressure. We have noted to increase the frequency of water filter change during dry Summers as the lower water table can result in occasional clogging. The issue is resolved. Hope to see you again!

Wonderful house and location
We loved our stay! The location was perfect for us- close to the entrance to North Cascades National Park where we wanted to explore, and very close to the little town of Marblemount to grab dinner and conveniences. The cabin is in a beautiful setting, in the field surrounded by mountains. It had everything we needed, from a well stocked kitchen to plenty of space and thoughtful extras like provided dish soap, shampoo and body wash. Communication was smooth and prompt. Highly recommend!

Beautiful house close to North Cascades NP
This property is even better than the pictures. Being on the Marblemount side of the park (instead of Winthrop) it is quite tranquil and really close to the Newhalen visitor center (20 mins give or take). Marblemount has a couple of gas stations with mini-markets and a few restaurants, Concrete (about 20 mins) has more choices and a grocery market. Overall, excellent choice for enjoying the park.

Great location, super clean and comfortable.
The house is super clean and spacious, with nice decks on both sides so you always have a shady or sunny deck. Very comfortable great room with nice views of the mountains. Kitchen is well equipped and the gas grill was spotless and worked great. And the location to explore NCNP was perfect. Steve was always available, quick to respond and gave the local advice that we needed.

A fabulous stay in North Cascades
Rainbow House is a fabulous place in a beautiful location and lots of space. Check in was easy and Steve was very prompt with answers to questions. My favorite part was sitting on the deck. The low hanging fog in the morning was beautiful. Rainbow House exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay again.

Great Place to Stay to Visit North Cascades National Park!
This is a great house in Marblemount, conveniently located near the west side of North Cascades National Park. The house is clean and spacious, with a wonderful open floor plan, and great amenities, including a large, well-equipped kitchen. The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful with all our inquiries and requests, including allowing us to charge our electric car with a 240-volt outlet. In addition, there are two or three great restaurant within less than a mile of the house.

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains
This is a perfect place to stay! The cabin was very clean and comfortable; it was home away from home! We loved being able to sit outside each evening and enjoy the peaceful view of the mountains. The location is perfect; close to the restaurants and gas stations and easy access to North Cascades National Park. The next time we return to the area, we would love to stay at the Rainbow House again!!

Great location on the west side of Cascades National Park
Hello, This cabin rental was everything we needed for a great stay on the west side of Cascades National Park. Nice amenities, good layout, fantastic views, and all of the comforts of home. We would recommend this home for anyone wanting to visit the Mt. Baker area or the hiking on the west side of Cascades National Park.

Good location
This house was in good location and had beautiful views from the back porch. It worked for what we needed but it wasn't a home away from home for our family so I didn't give it 5 stars. Some things to note for future guests- the proximity to North Cascades is good but still requires a good amount of driving. Because the town was small and to here is no grocery store, we bought all supplies at the gas station ( more expensive). The Rainbow house had most everything. There was a Keurig but no Kcups. I tried using my own coffee with reusable Kcup but the coffee maker was struggling to make it. The owner asked to use filtered water for Keurig but water was not provided. When buying water for hiking for triple the price at the gas station, it was hard to allocate it for Keurig that didn't really make good coffee. There is also a regular coffee maker but only had decaf and no filters. So to make a cup of coffee, I would have to buy filters at the gas station. Also something to be aware of is that the property listing states that up to eight people can stay at this property. However, once I booked the place I noticed that I was charged a fee for 5th person. I contacted the owner and he said that in the contract the price only includes 4 people. I double checked and it is in the contract but very misleading in the listing ( I frequently use VRBO and this was the first time where I ran into this). The check in time was 530 pm, which is the latest I have ever seen. There were multiple post-It notes in the house with specific things of not to do, so we were kind of worried about our kids playing with their board games. Overall, good location but not for our family. You will probably enjoy this place but stock up on all supplies and groceries before checking in.

Many thanks for your comments. Most are addressed in the pre-arrival instructions, sent within two weeks of check-in. We note to address a few coffee issues. Housekeeping uses the reusable K-Cups and has not reported problems but this will be checked. Use of filtered water in the Keurig is suggested but is not mandatory. Skagit Valley well water is wonderful! Occupancy vs. additional guests is a function of the website mechanics, but we will look and see how that can be made more clear. We have since reduced the maximum number of guests to six. Thanks again!

The Rainbow House was perfect for my family's trip to North Cascades. The house was extremely clean, cozy, and comfortable. The property had gorgeous views and was in close proximity to the park. It was a great place to relax after a long day of hiking. Steve was a fantastic host and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this property!

Perfect for National Park Adventurers
This was a great home directly outside the entrance to North Cascades National Park. It is the perfect place to stay if you are traveling with multiple people and want an alternative to camping/cabins. It was impeccably clean!! Unfortunately, we were there during some of the hottest summer days, and the house had no A/C and even experienced a temporary power outages from a rolling blackout situation for a few hours. But aside from the weather, the house was fantastic!

Beautiful house, great location
Stayed here for two nights while visiting the Cascades with our three kids and adult niece. Steve made everything very easy. The kitchen was very well stocked. We had easy access to the various trails. Loved sitting outside on the deck in the evening. Definitely very hot with the heat waves, but they were as many fans and cooling devices as you could ever hope for. All in all, a wonderful couple of days

Perfect Home Away from Home
It’s a good thing this wasn’t the first VRBO our family has ever rented because it would have set the bar so high no other place would ever compare. So clean and well maintained. Add in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, I would recommend Rainbow House to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting the North Cascades.

Great Getaway
We enjoyed the rainbow house. It had comfortable beds, fans for all the bedrooms and nice kitchen appliances. Great location to North Cascades and close to restaurants in town. Good place for the entire family with plenty of room to spread out.

Great basecamp for daily jaunts into North Cascades Nat'l Park
I used Rainbow House for a brief stay at NCNP as part of a long-form hiking trip that spanned the PNW. This house could not be better suited for people looking to relax and/or enjoy daytrips around the greater national park area. It is very conveniently located between Cascade River Rd. & the Ross Lake NRA, making it easy to feel like you're never far away from any of the more accessible views & trails. As far as the house goes, this is a spacious, very well-maintained property and honestly better than I was expecting, given its rural nature. Huge open yard, lots of space inside, OUTSTANDING views, and everything I used was in working order - not that I used many things in the house, because all I really ever did in the evenings was sit on the covered porch and enjoy the scenery with a cold beer. Washington will never be able to complete with Big Sky country for sunset vistas, but Rainbow House comes close - it feels like you're sitting in a PNW version of the Yellowstone Ranch. Many thanks to Steve for his quick response to my inquiries and allowing me to use his outstanding property. I don't know when I'll be able to make it back to North Cascades again (too many other places to see!), but when I do, I'll be looking this place up again.

Rainbow House in Marblemount
Our group of four senior all-male day hikers was looking for a comfortable house near the North Cascades National Park. After comparing the listings available, the Rainbow House looked like a good fit, and we were not disappointed. The house was clean and comfortable, well equipped, and the owner was very prompt in responding to our questions and concerns. The house was a great base for our day hikes, and, with the good TV system and many good books and games, was a good place to hang out when the weather was not favorable for hiking. We will definitely consider staying at the Rainbow House again if we return to the North Cascades area in the future.

Amazing Views
The cabin was so beautiful, better than the photos. The only issue we found was very low water pressure for the shower/bath/sink and not a lot of hot water. It was a great location to go day hiking in the North Cascades and there was a store right around the corner. We had a great time relaxing and watching the sunrise and sunset from the porch. Highly recommend!

Thanks so much for your comments. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Water pressure: Summer 2021 has been among the most beautfiul we remember, but also the driest on record. All but the deepest wells in the area are suffering low recovery rates. As this appears to be the trend of the future we will be deepening our well over the Winter months. Meanwhile, your understanding is appreciated, and guests for the remainder of 2021 are advised to use one tap at a time and conserve where possible. Thanks again! Steve

World Class Getaway
The Rainbow House is the perfect place to stay if you’re trying to enjoy the hiking and other activities the North Cascades has to offer. It had plenty of room for my 6 friends and myself to sleep, enjoy food and watch Netflix. This was my first experience in a VRBO property and I was very pleased with not only the cleanliness of the property but also the top notch communication of the owner Steve. Overall beautiful property, area and everything you need to make your weekend relaxing and memorable!
