âExcellent location right inside the old city. Easy walk to nearby attractions, restaurants, bars and more.
Check-in happens at a coffee shop outside Ploce Gate, so be prepared to walk 8 mins to the hotel. Fairly easy walk, but cobbled streets.
Inside, the property, rooms and decorations are immaculate and beautiful. No elevator, so a fair bit of stair climbing.
Minor point: safe wasn't functioning in my room due to previous guests leaving it locked.

âThe room was lovely, with a nice private terrace. Guesthouse Fortyfour is in the middle of the walled city, so it was a busy area with loud music from a nearby bar at night. The windows are well sound-proofed, which helps!
Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Thank you to the Guesthouse team!â

âRoom was very nice, comfortable bed, clean, and had all the amenities you need. Just as pictured. Please note that the 120 steps from the center of old town can be brutal. Walking up and down those stairs, twice a day, will definitely keep you in shape. You will have stairs wherever you choose to stay in old town though. â

âGreat location that is close to Pile Gate in Old Town. Host was very helpful and fast to respond to any questions. Apartment was homy and comfortable for 3 people with clean and complete kitchen and bathroom amenities. If you like to be in the main street, close to the shops and retaurant, this is a great locati â
âOnly an overnight to catch early morning flight, but as soon as we saw apartment we regretted not coming earlier. Great view of Dubrovnik and ocean from both balcony and windows in this top floor apartment.
Well planned layout with all essentials provided. Very friendly and helpful host completed first impression.
Only 10 minutes from old town makes this a perfect starting point to explore old Dubrovnik.
And town is truly worth more than half a day of sightseeing.

âThe room was beautiful. We loved the area it was in as it was so convenient to get to the pile gate and then walk to all the restaurants and shops. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Would definitely stay here again if weâre ever in Dubrovnik again! â

âClean and fresh. Ana was very service minded. Dubrovnik old town is tiny so doesnât matter much exactly where you stay. More important that it is clean. This place is 50 meters from steps of shame. Best snd coziest restaurants are however on the other (north) side of main street. â

âGreat spot in the old town. Nice big room with kitchenette, safe, good shower and excellent air conditioning.
Easy enough to get into, just make sure you read the instructions as thereâs a few different apartments in the building.
Hosts are responsive and helpful
No luggage storage as itâs all remote, but thereâs a place just around the corner which is very reasonable if you need itâ

"An excellent 5 star hotel in Dubrovnik, from the exceptional welcoming reception, to the always friendly and service minded staff and of course, amazing luxurious rooms, in our case with a private terasse, beautiful spa and a must mention, the hotel exclusive direct sea access with sun chairs, service and absolute closeness to the Adriatic sea right at the doorstep of the hotel. All and all, a must stay in Dubrovnik, only a few minutes away from the historic Old town and all the buzz it is both calm and serene at Excelsior. We'll be back. Thank you to all the staff for working hard and making it a memorable stay!
Few notes:
Try out the hotel restaurants, they are fantastic.
A room with a terrace is nice but not a must have, try booking in the villa but if you have to choose there are plenty of outdoor space anyway at the hotel facilities.
Enjoy the amazing breakfast.
Ask for a sun chair at the sea front to experience the ultimate best of the Excelsior experience. The staff are attentive and always ready to help out! "
